  • Patent number: 11935127
Abstract: This technology relates to providing a web-based digital claims platform to provide users with a simple and customized experience when filing insurance claims. The platform is enabled by a plurality of back-end application programming interface (API) resources. These API resources are event-driven (e.g., when an “event” associated with the claim occurs, the status of the claim changes and the API is provided with updated information indicative of the change). The platform includes a customized user interface (UI) that tailors the claim experience to a particular user's needs. The customization can be based off of stated user preferences and/or learned user preferences associated with the user's past behavior. A user can perform/request various services through the customized UI's self-service function (e.g., rent a car, find a hotel room, select a repair shop, etc.). Additionally, the customized UI can enable the user upload documents, track claim status, find relevant help topics, etc.

  • Publication number: 20220335733
Abstract: Photogrammetric analysis of an object is carried out by capturing images of the object. Photogrammetric analysis requires the capture of multiple overlapping images of the object from various camera positions. These images are then processed to generate a three-dimensional (3D) point cloud representing the object in 3D space. A 3D model of the object is used to generate a model 3D point cloud. Based on the modelled point cloud and camera optics, the visibility of each point in the 3D point cloud is determined for a range of possible camera positions. The radial component of the camera is fixed by defining a shell of suitable camera positions around the part and for each position on the defined shell, the quality as a function of camera position is calculated. This defines a density function over the potential camera positions. Initial camera positions are selected based on the density function.

  • Publication number: 20210356263
Abstract: A surface topography sensing apparatus (10) comprises a light source (11) operable to generate a reference light beam (12) which is incident upon a surface (1). The scattered reference light (13) is captured by a light detector (14), thereby capturing a characteristic angular scattering distribution (ASD) for the point where the beam (12) scatters from surface (1). The ASD is generated by a processing module (16) connected to the light detector (14). Once the ASD is generated, the processing module 16 is operable to compare the generated ASD against a library (17) of sample ASDs, each sample ASD representative of a particular expected surface topography condition for the specific application being studied. Based on the comparison, the processing module may then assign a classification of the topography of surface (1).

  • Patent number: 8446943
Abstract: A method and apparatus for communicating over a power line. In one embodiment of the method, a first PWM waveform signal is generated, wherein a duty cycle of the first PWM waveform signal is proportional to an amplitude of a first analog signal. A first sinusoidal waveform signal is also generated, which has a first frequency. The first sinusoidal waveform signal is modulated in relation to the first PWM waveform signal. The modulated first sinusoidal waveform signal is transmitted to a circuit via a power conductor that couples a power source to the circuit. The circuit in turn generates a demodulated signal by demodulating the modulated first sinusoidal waveform signal.

  • Patent number: 6913415
Abstract: A modular barrier includes a plurality of identical barrier sections. Each section 10 includes a base portion 12 surmounted by an upright portion 14. The upright portion has projections 16, 18 with substantially semicylindrical outer surfaces at its ends. Correspondingly shaped recesses 20, 22 are also provided. At a female end, the base portion 12 includes a nose 28. The surface of the nose is a surface of rotation of the profile of the base portion 12. At the male end, the base portion 12 includes a correspondingly shaped cavity 30. The first and second projections 16, 18 and nose 28 are provided with bores 32, 34, 36. When the female end of the barrier section 10 is brought up to a male end of a similar section, the projections mate with one another and the nose 28 is received in the cavity 30 of the similar section. A hinge pin (not shown) may then be passed through the bores 32, 34, and 36.

  • Publication number: 20050044602
Abstract: A self-heat article of clothing to be worn by a person to keep warm during an emergency situation which cannot be inadvertently removed until the emergency situation is over, and a self-heat blanket to cover a person or persons while sleeping, in which the articles of clothing and blankets have a self heating system incorporated therein. The self-heating system includes self-heat disks held in closely spaced apart relationship between an upper and lower layer of fabric material which begin to generate heat when exposed to oxygen in the air. The self-heat disks include a mixture of iron powder, charcoal powder, table salt or sodium chloride mixed together with water, cut into disks having an area dimension of about one square inch each. Airtight enclosures are provided to hold the self-heat articles of clothing and the self-heat blankets to prevent exposure to air and the oxygen in the air until they are to be used.

  • Patent number: 6199222
Abstract: A combined toilet and waste holding tank is provided for mounting within a portable toilet cabana having side walls, a rear wall, and a front wall with a door and a floor. The tank extends along the rear wall and between the side walls and occupies roughly the rear half of the cabana floor space. The toilet includes a ring-like structure having a rear portion opening directly into the tank through a cover panel upon the upper surface of the tank, and also having a forward extending, bowl-like portion which is integral with and extends forwardly of the front wall of the tank. The cabana has a rear-to-front extending central axis which approximately bisects the cabana. The toilet structure is located substantially on one side of the cabana axis, so that it is closer to one side wall of the cabana and the toilet is acutely angled relative to the cabana axis.
