  • Patent number: 7650522
Abstract: A mobile computing device that dynamically and automatically manages all network adapters on the device to obtain the best and most effective balance of network connectivity and power consumption without requiring operator or user application intervention. Performance is increased by lowering power consumption (longer battery life) and decreasing transaction latencies, providing a device that has flexibility and ease of use. According to one aspect is a system that includes a data analysis component that monitors parameters associated with a device and a mobility policy manager component that provides balance of network connectivity and power consumption based at least in part upon the monitored stimuli.

  • Publication number: 20090291636
Abstract: Described are a system and a method for locating a device. The system includes a mobile device associated with a network via a wireless transceiver, the mobile device including an audio output component; and a network component receiving a query and generating a command signal to be transmitted to the mobile device in response to the query, the command signal indicating to the mobile device to activate the audio output component. A sound emitted from the audio output component is used to locate the mobile device when a location of the mobile device is unknown.

  • Patent number: 7504939
Abstract: Described is a system and method for locating a wireless device. The method comprising receiving a first wireless signal including first location data. The first location data corresponds to a first location of a wireless device as determined by a first wireless communication system. Receiving a second wireless signal including second location data. The second location data corresponding to a second location of the wireless device as determined by a second wireless communication system. Determining a third location of the device as a function of at least one of the first and second location data. Adjusting a setting of the wireless device as a function of the third location.
