  • Patent number: 12247907
Abstract: The following is an apparatus and a method that enables the automated collection and identification of airborne particulate matter comprising dust, pollen grains, mold spores, bacterial cells, and soot from a gaseous medium comprising the ambient air. Once ambient air is inducted into the apparatus, aerosol particulates are acquired and imaged under a novel lighting environment that is used to highlight diagnostic features of the acquired airborne particulate matter. Identity determinations of acquired airborne particulate matter are made based on captured images. Abundance quantifications can be made using identity classifications. Raw and summary information are communicated across a data network for review or further analysis by a user. Other than routine maintenance or subsequent analyses, the basic operations of the apparatus may use, but do not require the active participation of a human operator.

  • Publication number: 20240381863
Abstract: A fishing apparatus sensing alarm unit having a processor and at least one sensor, the unit mounted to a fishing apparatus and configured to sense apparatus operation and provide an alarm sensing an apparatus operation event. Sensor can be a motion sensor and the unit mounted to a movable component of the apparatus, sensing movement thereof, and alarming upon sensing movement. Apparatus can be an ice fishing tip up to which the unit is mounted to a movable component, such as a flagpole or shaft, thereof. Sensor can be a magnetic sensor and the unit configured for sensing movement of a magnet of the apparatus and alarming upon sensing magnet movement. Magnet is carried by a base, shaft, or cross bar of the tip up or a spool of a fishing reel with the unit configured to sense magnet movement and output a fish strike alarm upon sensing magnet movement.

  • Publication number: 20240236420
Abstract: The present invention discloses improved methods and systems for identifying transitions between programming content and commercial ad content in pre-recorded media files, live digital broadcasts, or streaming media—content streams—that have no ad break markers encoded therein. The process employs iterative, machine learning context models to improve ad break identification accuracy the more it is used. The present invention enables the dynamic replacement of ads already in the content stream with customized ads “on the fly”. The present invention also enables “on the fly” ad skipping in recorded media.

  • Patent number: 11766972
Abstract: A low-profile, backlit panel assembly and a controller for displaying images and/or data within a passenger compartment of a vehicle are provided. The assembly includes a substrate panel perforated with a two-dimensional array of closely-spaced holes. The panel is configured to be attached to a support structure of the vehicle. The assembly further includes a plurality of semiconductor-based, lighting devices supported at a back surface of the panel. Each of the lighting devices includes at least one lighting element. Each of the lighting elements is individually addressable by the controller to control luminous intensity of the light emitted by the at least one lighting element. Each of the lighting devices is aligned with one of the holes so that light emitted by each of the lighting devices travels through its hole to the passenger compartment in the form of a pixel of a two-dimensional image.
