    Abstract: A method of sensing hydrocarbons in a subterranean rock formation, including advancing a drilling assembly within the subterranean rock formation. The drilling assembly is configured to discharge a first fluid into the subterranean rock formation, and wherein a second fluid flows past an exterior of the drilling assembly. The method further includes sampling at least one of the first fluid and the second fluid, thereby defining a sampled amount of fluid, and determining a hydrocarbon content of the sampled amount of fluid.

    Abstract: Examples of techniques for storing and providing electric energy to equipment at the sites are disclosed. In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a method includes receiving, at a charging hub, electric energy from a power source. The method further includes charging, at the charging hub, an electric energy storage device associated with an electric powered vehicle by providing the electric energy from the power source to the electric energy storage device. The method further includes relocating the electric powered vehicle from the charging hub to a site. The method further includes providing electric energy from the electric energy storage device to the electric powered vehicle and an electric component at the site to cause the electric component to operate.

    Abstract: Magnetic locator systems and methods of using same at a wellhead are described. The magnetic locator systems include a magnetic field generator on an oilfield tool component, such as a deployment bar, adapted to be moved through an oilfield pressure control component, such as a blow-out preventer, lubricator, riser pipe, or wellhead, and a magnetic field sensor located outside of the pressure control component adapted to detect the magnetic field and thus the position of the tool component in the pressure control component. The systems and methods of the invention provide safer and more efficient operation of oil and gas well pressure control systems. This abstract allows a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the disclosure.
