  • Patent number: 11955696
Abstract: A device includes a display and a housing. The housing surrounds the display and has four corners defining portions of an exterior surface of the device. The housing includes a first housing segment defining at least part of a first corner of the four corners and configured to operate as an antenna; a second housing segment defining at least part of a second corner of the four corners; and a third housing segment defining at least part of a third corner of the four corners. The third corner forms part of the housing diagonally opposite the second corner. The housing further includes a non-conductive housing component that structurally couples the first housing segment to another portion of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6187862
Abstract: A thermoplastic molding composition comprising a grafted rubber and a copolymeric matrix is disclosed. The composition is characterized in that its grafted rubber includes a substrate, a first grafted phase and a subsequent grafted phase which are sequentially grafted to said substrate. The substrate which contains a crosslinked elastomer is grafted with a first grafted phase and with a subsequent grafted phase, both phases containing copolymers of at least one vinylaromatic monomer and at least one member selected from the group consisting of (meth)acrylonitrile and alkyl (meth)acrylate. The relative ratios of the monomers making up the copolymerized phases differ one from the other. The grafted rubber is present in particulate form having a weight average particle size of about 0.1 to 1.0 microns. The composition features improved impact strength and reduced opacity.

  • Patent number: 6072002
Abstract: A thermoplastic molding composition which features improved impact and flow properties as well as reduced opacity is disclosed. The composition contains(A) 15 to 50 percent of a grafted rubber which contains (a) a crosslinked rubber substrate which contains, as a core, about 1 to 25% relative to its weight of at least one vinylaromatic polymer, and (b) a grafted phase, and(B) 85 to 50 percent of a copolymeric matrix. The composition, which contains no additional grafted rubber components, is also characterized in that (i) the substrate amounts to 60 to 90 percent, and grafted phase amounts to 40 to 10 percent, relative to the weight of the grafted rubber and that (ii) the grafted rubber has a monomodal size distribution and that (iii) the grafted rubber has a weight average particle size of about 0.2 to 1.0 microns.

  • Patent number: 5990239
Abstract: A thermoplastic composition comprising (a) a polyalkyl acrylate rubber characterized that it contains no grafted phase, and (b) a poly (vinyl aromatic-co-nitrile)-grafted polyalkyl acrylate rubber, and (c) ungrafted poly (vinyl aromatic-co-nitrile) having a number average molecular weight of about 20,000 to 100,000 g/mole is disclosed. The composition which contains about 15 to 35% by weight of polyalkyl acrylate rubber having a weight average particle size of about 0.02 to 1 microns and wherein weight ratio between (a) to the total (a)+(b) is 0.1 to 0.5, is characterized in having improved physical and mechanical properties.

  • Patent number: 5932655
Abstract: A thermoplastic molding composition which features improved impact and reduced opacity is disclosed. The composition which contains (A) 2 to 59 percent of a first grafted rubber having a weight average particle size of 0.05 to 0.30 microns, and (B) 6 to 56 percent of a second grafted rubber having a weight average particle size of 0.31 to 1.00 microns, and (C) 35 to 75 percent of a copolymeric matrix. The total rubber content of the composition is 10 to 40 percent relative to the total weight of (A), (B) and (C). The grafted rubber, both occurrences, contains a grafted phase and a core-shell phase. The grafted phase contains a styrenic copolymer and the core-shell phase, both occurrences, contains a core containing at least one crosslinked vinylaromatic polymer, and an elastomeric shell. The copolymeric matrix (C) contains a styrenic copolymer.
