  • Patent number: 11924203
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and systems for secure logon. One or more method includes: determining, via authentication information provided by a user of an electronic device, that the user is authorized to access an online account provided by the online account provider; providing the user with a selectable option to enable an expedited logon process by which the user can access the online account by solely providing a particular authentication item of the user; receiving a verification credential in response to a next logon attempt using the expedited logon process; and verifying that the received verification credential matches an assigned verification credential provided to the user for use in conjunction with the next logon attempt using the expedited logon process.

  • Patent number: 11916444
Abstract: Disclosed is a hermetic AC electric motor that includes harmonics shunting such that high frequency harmonics are shunted from the AC electric motor without the use of one or more high frequency filters in the associated motor drive. A related method of operating an AC electric motor includes shunting high frequency harmonics to a fluid passing through the AC electric motor. Also disclosed is a simplified variable speed motor drive system which eliminates the need for a filter for removing high frequency harmonics.

  • Publication number: 20040093030
Abstract: A bone anchor assembly having a bone screw and a suture attachment, with the suture attachment threaded to the bone screw with a pair of mating threads that are of the opposite hand from the bone-engaging thread of the bone screw. Overtravel clearance is provided between the bone screw and the suture attachment to permit rotation of the suture attachment with respect to the bone screw at least in the same direction as the direction of engagement of the mating threads. The suture attachment can be an eye bolt or an eye nut. A pilot boss is received in a pilot bore in the engaging portions of the bone anchor and suture attachment. The bone anchor and suture attachment are anodized implant grade titanium material.

  • Patent number: 6443886
Abstract: A valve movable between open and closed positions is described. The valve preferably has an integral hinge and includes an inherent bias toward the closed position. The valve is particularly suitable as a component of an article for treating urinary incontinence.

  • Publication number: 20020101595
Abstract: A device and method for inspecting cam profiles by sensing and storing data points representing the profiles of camshaft cams and comparing this information to known acceptable limits. The device includes an array of laser range finders that are alignable with respective cams of a camshaft to be inspected. The range finders measure the distances to respective outer cam surfaces by reflecting laser light off those surfaces as the cams rotate, calculating angles of reflection by sensing the changing positions of reflected laser light and calculating distances to the respective reflecting points from the angles of reflection. The device also includes a circuit connected to the range finders that determines the dimensions of the cams by analyzing the electrical signals from the range finders as the camshaft rotates.

  • Publication number: 20010002428
Abstract: A valve for a body orifice is a tube formed of a flexible polymer with an inlet fixed across the orifice and an outlet away from the orifice. A flange is about the inlet to interface with the orifice. A passage in the tube extends from the inlet along an axis. A wall of the tube is between the inlet and the outlet and has a barrel shape tapered to the inlet and the outlet and wider therebetween. The wall extends between an inside and an outside. A hinge about the tube is in the wall at the barrel shape. The hinge is an area of preferential bending so the tube is either a barrel or flipped with the outlet folded about the hinge into the passage. The outlet has holes through the wall with each in a plane substantially normal to the axis and away from the inlet and axially beyond the hinge.

  • Patent number: 6200261
Abstract: The apparatus for closing a body orifice. The apparatus includes a valve having a flexible bulbous tube with an inlet and outlet. A passage in the bulbous tube extends from the inlet along an axis. A wall of the tube is between the inlet and the outlet and has a barrel shape tapered to the inlet and outlet and wider therebetween. The wall extends between an inside and an outside. A hinge is located in the wall where the barrel shape wall defines the passage, and the hinge is an area of preferential bending so the bulbous tube is either a barrel or flipped with the outlet folded about the hinge into the passage. The outlet has holes through the wall. A seat within the bulbous tube is on the inside of the wall in the passage to engage the outlet when the tube is flipped into the passage by bending the hinge acutely as the outlet is moved along the axis to the inlet and against the seat.

  • Patent number: 4339908
Abstract: The invention relates to vegetation clearing devices and more particularly to a gravity roller means for use in vegetation clearing. The invention provides a vehicle for use in vegetation clearing which comprises a winch arrangement mounted on the vehicle and connected with, so as to drive, two independently controllable winch drums. Control lines are mounted around the winch drums and are connected by way of a fair lead arrangement to a roller. Roller mounting means are provided at the front of the vehicle, so that with the vehicle situated in position at the top of a slope or hill, the roller is allowed to roll down the slope clearing vegetation in its path.
