  • Patent number: 9222784
Abstract: Tracking a person in a building can be performed by obtaining a building layout with respect to a surrounding geography and tracking movement of the person using a monitoring device carried by the person. A correction angle can be calculated to normalize tracked movement of the person with respect to a skew angle of the building layout. The correction angle can be applied to the tracked movement of the person or the building layout.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 19, 2011
Date of Patent: December 29, 2015
Inventors: Richard M. Keene, Stephen Kent Garland, Milne T. Crouch, Daniel Travis Maxwell, Daniel C. Maxwell
  • Patent number: 9170124
Abstract: Variable step tracking is described in which a monitoring station is operable to receive data signals representative of step movement of an asset as detected by a monitoring device carried by the asset. A database stores a step length of the asset. A step length modification module modifies the step length based on at least one of energy, asset orientation, direction, and frequency associated with the step movement. An asset position is estimated with respect to a known location based on cumulative step lengths.

  • Patent number: 6990512
Abstract: A method and system is disclosed for controlling real time presentation session through a communication network using control features embedded in a predetermined presentation software such as QuickTime Player. An original media server is first located for streaming a media file therefrom to present a real time presentation session. An Internet Cache System is situated between the original media server and the presentation tool having the presentation software. During a handshake communication process among the original media server, the Internet Cache System and the presentation software, a session description information sent by the original media server for the forthcoming presentation session is modified so as to make the presentation software deem the presentation session as a non-live presentation session.

  • Patent number: 4129502
Abstract: Process for treating liquid. The liquid is contained in a vessel. A stream of liquid is passed under pressure through a line. Gas is introduced into the stream and downstream of the gas introduction point the stream passes downwardly through an expansion chamber in which its velocity is reduced in order to allow a prolonged gas/liquid contact. The pH of the liquid in the vessel is controlled to a value in a predetermined range.
