  • Publication number: 20240097696
Abstract: Example channel circuits, data storage devices, and methods for asynchronous sampling from an oversampled analog-to-digital converter are described. The channel circuit may include an analog-to-digital converter configured to generate an oversampled digital signal from an analog data signal using a sample rate that is an integer multiple of the baud rate of the channel circuit. A digital sample interpolator may then interpolate interpolated digital signal values from multiple signal values of the oversampled digital signal and select values at baud rate to generate a baud rate digital signal. The baud rate digital signal may be used by an iterative detector in a timing loop and, once a target timing is achieved, for the iterative detector to detect data bits from the interpolated digital signal.

  • Patent number: 7627745
Abstract: A method, system and program product for verifying configuration of a computer system is disclosed. The method includes generating, using a configuration snapshot tool, first and second configuration snapshots of relevant components of a computer system taken at a first and a second point-in-time, respectively, and comparing data in the first configuration snapshot to data in the second configuration snapshot to identify any critical and significant configuration changes while excluding identifying any insignificant configuration changes that do not significantly effect an acceptable level of operation and an intended purpose of the computer system. The method includes alerting as to any critical configuration changes identified, while informing as to any significant configuration changes identified for the computer system.

  • Patent number: 5721527
Abstract: Vehicles normally equipped with safety airbags in the steering wheel and dashboard can be modified by deleting the airbags. A method for ensuring that the modifications are properly made, involves the use of an indicator light on the vehicle instrument panel and an electrical circuit that turns the indicator light off when the airbag deletion hardware is properly installed. The electric circuit includes light energizer circuits in the steering wheel and dashboard, and a shorting bar in each energizer circuit.

  • Patent number: 5071244
Abstract: A soft bifocal contact lens has a carrier lens of soft plastic material shaped and dimensioned to an eye of a user. A central portion of the carrier lens is formed to provide distance-vision correction for the eye of the user. An auxiliary lens smaller than the carrier lens is attached adjacent a lower edge of the carrier lens, and formed to provide near-vision correction for the eye of the user. The auxiliary lens has a contour of a lower edge thereof for contacting a lower eyelid of the user to translate the carrier lens upward when the user moves the eye downward for close vision.
