Patent number: 7181463Abstract: A method and system are provided in which static lists facilitate arbitrary grouping of items of data independent of their locations and in ways that are meaningful to the user. A static list is a set of items defined by a root item, a direction, and the entry relationships with that root item in that direction. The static list also defines the properties that each entry relationship in the list is required to have. Verbs are provided to manage a static list. A verb is an action that may be performed on the items in the static list, and includes, among others, move, copy, add, remove, and delete. A view is provided to specify characteristics for displaying data from a static list, including visibility, order, and formatting, among other characteristics.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2003Date of Patent: February 20, 2007Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Jason F. Publication number: 20050112992Abstract: An oscillating body, and a method of manufacturing an oscillating body using a mold having a mold cavity with a curved surface. The method involves inserting a predetermined amount of a hardenable mixture in the mold cavity and allowing the hardenable mixture to harden to produce a body that is a negative of at least a portion of the mold cavity, including a curved surface that is a negative of the curved surface of the mold. A ballast is connected to the body portion such that the ballast remains stationary relative to the body portion. An oscillating body is made in part or in whole from the body portion with the ballast, wherein the oscillating body is adapted to roll on the curved surface in an oscillating manner after being subjected to a displacement.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2004Publication date: May 26, 2005Inventor: Richard Malcolm

Patent number: 6309517Abstract: This invention comprises a driven conveyor for transporting work pieces into one or more flood plating cells for electroplating a metal onto the planar surfaces and surfaces of the through holes of the work piece. An electrolyte solution is pumped by one or more recirculating pumps into the flood cell at such a rate as to maintain the liquid at a desired level covering the anodes and work pieces while work pieces are moved through the cells. One or more power sources provide direct current to the anodes and to the electrified contactors to transmit electrical current to the work pieces. The electrified contactors are positioned across the path of the work piece and spaced outside of the flood cell such that the electrolyte solution does not contact the contactors. Plating will occur so long as the work piece is in contact with one or more of the electrified contactors and the electrolyte.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2000Date of Patent: October 30, 2001Assignee: Oliver Sales CompanyInventors: Richard Carroll Condra, Richard Malcolm Johnson

Patent number: 4083239Abstract: The invention provides a peripheral vision horizon device for use in projecting a light bar on the interior of an aircraft cockpit or the like to indicate pitch and roll, the light bar being located with reference to a datum in the cockpit. The device includes a housing having a first part attachable to the cockpit and a second part rotatably coupled to the first part for movement about a first axis which on assembly in the aircraft extends transversely of the cockpit. A lens carrier is rotatably coupled to the second part for rotation about a second axis which is at right angles to the first axis. A light source is contained in the housing and an optical system is coupled to the housing for directing light from the light source towards the lens carrier along the second axis. A lens of two-fold symmetry is mounted in the lens carrier transversely of the second axis for receiving said light and projecting a beam of light which strikes the interior of the cockpit to create the light bar.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1976Date of Patent: April 11, 1978Assignee: Canadian Minister of National DefenceInventors: Richard Malcolm, Philip Anderson, Kenneth E.
