  • Patent number: 6133994
Abstract: A device for testing a pulse oximetry probe includes means for receiving an output signal dependent on the wavelength of light emitted by a light emitter of the probe, and for determining, from this output signal, an accuracy figure for the blood oxygen indication of the probe.

  • Patent number: 4308968
Abstract: An arrangement for sealing the space between the outer rim of a floating roof and the inner wall of a tank includes a primary seal coupled to and extending between the inner wall of the tank and the rim and a secondary seal mounted on the rim of the roof and extending upwardly and outwardly and into contact with the inner wall of the tank above the primary seal. The primary seal comprises a flexible vapor barrier element. The secondary seal is made highly flexible and readily able to conform to the inner wall of the tank by use of a support structure in the form of a plurality of support plates mounted on the rim of the roof in side-by-side relation with overlapping but unjoined edges. The support plates support and force a pair of wipers mounted on top of the plates into contact with the inner wall of the tank.

  • Patent number: 4120118
Abstract: A semi-disassemblable toy vehicle is disclosed and claimed. In general, the vehicle includes a body having a hinged, openable hood and a hinged, openable trunk lid. When the toy user opens the trunk lid, a trunk compartment recess is disclosed, in which a tool box is carried. Within the tool box are a number of wrenches and a screwdriver. After obtaining the tools to work on the vehicle, the playing child can open the hood. Under the hood is an engine compartment recess, in which are an engine, a radiator and a battery representation. Battery caps and a radiator cap can be moved between open and closed positions by applying the appropriate manual dexterity. The wrenches can be used to tighten and loosen spark plug representations carried by the engine. The screwdriver can be used to loosen and tighten an air filter carried atop the engine. While these parts can be loosened, they cannot be entirely removed, thereby obviating the well known propensity of children to loose toy parts.

  • Patent number: PP11078
Abstract: A new and distinct selection of Desert Willow, Chilopsis linearis, which shall be referred to hereinafter as cultivar `Monhews`. Cultivar `Monhews` differs distinctively from other Chilopsis linearis plants known to the inventor by possessing a unique combination of showy two-toned flowers, long bloom season and fewer and smaller seed pods containing sterile seed. This unique characteristic of sterile seed and fewer and smaller seed pods results in a landscape plant, which is much cleaner and may be reason for the desirable longer bloom period.
