A hot migration operation is executed from a first version of a service using a first data model, to a second version of the service using a second data model that is modified with respect to said first data model. A service comprises a client application, a data manager and a data repository. The migrate operation is effected on a server facility that accommodates multiple processes to be running in parallel. Second version client applications, a second version data manager operating according to the second data model, and a second version data repository arranged according to the second data model and cooperating with the second version data manager are installed. The first and the second version data managers are provided each with a migration plug-in.
