  • Publication number: 20040265511
Abstract: A sculpture kit includes a three-dimensional armature which has a head, eye indentations, an upper jaw and a lower jaw that is connected to the upper jaw with a hinge. Modeling clay, appendages, eyeballs and other details are attached to the armature to create the sculpture. The clay may be baked to harden and thereafter paint is applied to create a sculptured head. A fitting is connected to the bottom of the armature to assist with mounting the finished sculpture to a base or connector.

  • Patent number: 6815126
Abstract: A PWB or multilayer board with circuit traces is treated by a process that serves to reduce the incident of failure of the board. The process includes the steps of applying a thin commoning layer of copper onto a catalyzed surface of the board substrate and the circuit lines. A photoresist is then applied over the commoning layer after which the photoresist is removed only from the commoning material over the circuit lines. A thin layer of a more noble metal, such as nickel, is electrodeposited over the exposed conductive layer. This is followed by a gold layer electrodeposited over the nickel in close registry therewith. The process provides the traces with a conforming nickel/gold layer that extends down the side of the traces. This reduces the tendency of a subsequent copper etch step from undercutting the nickel/gold, thereby causing slivers that could cause short circuiting between adjacent circuit patterns.

  • Patent number: 6802984
Abstract: This invention is directed to processes designed to recover water used in certain aspects of the processing of poultry, treat the recovered water to remove solids, fats, oils and greases, animal proteins and pathogenic organisms and to reuse the treated water for poultry processing operations. Although the reuse points will vary from plant to plant depending upon specific water consumption volumes, type of processing operations conducted by the facility and regulatory requirements and approvals, there are a number of reuse points which are preferred based upon treated water quality requirements, material balances relating to the capacity to recover process streams and the consumption volumes at the identified reuse points, and source waters that have been shown to have the least total contaminant loading.

  • Patent number: 6785049
Abstract: An illumination system for a reflective display is particularly useful for microdisplays that use reflective displays. The light source and the reflective image display unit are mounted in a coplanar manner, thus permitting the light source and the display unit to be mounted on a single board, or even on a single substrate. The display unit may include a first light source directing light generally along a first axis and a reflective image display unit disposed with an optical axis substantially parallel to the first axis. A reflective polarizing film is disposed to direct light from the first light source to the reflective image light display unit.

  • Patent number: 6772452
Abstract: An assembly useful in directing a stream of water onto the surfaces of a toilet bowl includes a delay valve rendered operative by the lifting of the toilet seat and a bellows spring connected to be pulled in by the latching vacuum draw of the delay valve and thereafter released to displace the seat towards its lowered state. A set of springs then opposes the dropping stroke of the seat once displaced by the bellows spring. The assembly is conformed for installation onto an existing toilet.

  • Publication number: 20040153376
Abstract: Generating an optimized supplier allocation plan includes identifying parts and suppliers associated with an allocation problem, where each supplier can supply at least one part. One or more objective functions are selected. Each objective function has part variables, and each part variable represents a quantity of a part to be procured from a supplier. At least one constraint constraining at least one part variable is received. The one or more objective functions are optimized with respect to the at least one constraint to yield a value for each part variable. A quantity of each part to be procured from at least one supplier is determined according to the values to generate the optimized supplier allocation plan.

  • Publication number: 20040140081
Abstract: A heat pump circuit is installed into the inner cavity of a chimney servicing a dwelling with the exterior heat pump coil mounted in an annular gap formed around the upper chimney end. A fan driven by the chimney draft then rotates an exterior rank of blade segments above the annular space to draw ambient air across the exterior coil. A set of gated apertures in the chimney wall both above and below the flue damper then directs zoned airflows up into the chimney and across the inner coil that is deployed at the lower, interior chimney opening.

  • Publication number: 20030094422
Abstract: The inventions of the present disclosure are directed to processes designed to recover water used in certain aspects of the processing of poultry, treat the recovered water to remove solids, fats, oils and greases, animal proteins and pathogenic organisms and to reuse the treated water for poultry processing operations. The processes described herein reduce bacteria and microorganisms associated with the poultry and reuse water. The present disclosure can be employed with an approach that includes unexpected positive results of reacting ozone and chlorine with water being treated for reuse to generate hypochlorous acid and/or other effective biocides. Ozone reacts with fats, oils, and greases, dissolved in the reuse water, to produce specific surface-active agents and surfactants which reduce the surface tension of the water which it is dissolved.

  • Patent number: 6544584
Abstract: A process for removal of undesirable conductive material (e.g., catalyst material and seeped circuit material) on a circuitized substrate and the resultant circuitized substrates disclosed. Such process and resultant circuit effectively address the electrical shorting problems caused by nonremoval of the residual catalyst material and circuit material which has seeped under the residual catalyst material. The process includes the steps of: a) providing a catalyst layer (e.g., palladium and tin) having circuit pattern (e.g., copper) thereon; b) pretreating the catalyst layer and the circuit pattern (e.g., with a cyanide dip) for removal of undesirable portions of each which cause electrical leakage between circuit lines of the circuit pattern; c) oxidizing the catalyst layer and the circuit pattern (e.g.
