  • Patent number: 8020256
Abstract: A pivot device has a first hinge part and a second hinge part pivotably connected to the first hinge part about a pivot axis. A blocking device secures the first and second hinge parts in a pivoted position relative to one another against backward and forward pivoting out of the pivoted position. The blocking device has first and second friction surfaces that, when pivoting the first and second hinge parts relative to one another, glide across one another and move axially relative to one another in an axial direction of the pivot axis as a pivot angle between the first and second hinge parts increases.

  • Patent number: 6851159
Abstract: The invention relates to a door hinge for a door of a vehicle. The inventive hinge comprises a first and a second guiding arrangement (7, 20; 7, 30, 31) for fixing at least one holding position for the door hinge. Said hinge also comprises a first and a seond free end (19) which engage with the first and second guiding arrangements. Said ends belong to a spring element (16). The aim of the invention is to provide a door hinge that is constructed in a compact manner and reliably enables to fix the door hinge, whereby moments crosswise in relation to the swivelling axis are prevented. To this end, the first free end (19) and the second free end (19) respectively are arranged in a mirror-inverted manner in relation to each other and at the remaining halve (3) of the hinge.

  • Patent number: 6739020
Abstract: The invention relates to a door hinge for a motor vehicle door. Said door hinge comprises a first and a second hinge half (1, 2) each of which can be fastened either on one of the door fastening elements, on the door or on the door pillar respectively. The hinge also comprises a hinge shaft (3) that is received by the lugs of the one hinge half (1) in a running fit and by the other hinge half (2) in a stationary manner and that links the two hinge halves (1, 2) so that they can be swiveled. The door hinge is further provided with an integrated door stop unit by means of which the one hinge half can be arrested with respect to the other hinge half under the pre-load of a spring (7), said spring forcing a tappet (5) against a profiled circumferential section of the hinge shaft. Said tappet (5) interacts with the profiled circumferential section, thereby defining a frictional force for the door hinge.

  • Patent number: 6473937
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle door hinge having an integrated braking and holding function. Said door hinge is comprised of a first hinge half which acts upon a door assembly part, a door, or a door pillar, and of a second hinge halve which acts upon another door assembly part. The door hinge also comprises a hinge pin which pivotally connects both hinge halves to one another. The hinge pin is made of a solid material and is accommodated in at least one hinge eye of a hinge half with a running fit and is accommodated in at least one hinge eye of the other half with a close fit. A braking and holding device which is integrated in the hinge comprises at least one spring-loaded braking and holding body. Said braking and holding body is aligned in a radial manner relative to the hinge pin and interacts with a circumferential profile of the hinge pin, said profile extending over a part of the circumference thereof.

  • Patent number: 6442800
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle door brake which has an opening end stop and which is integrated in a hinge. The hinge is comprised of two hinge halves which are interconnected in a jointed manner by means of a hinge pin. Said hinge halves can alternately engage with one of both door assembly parts, the door, or the door pillar. The hinge pin is connected to the first hinge half in a rotationally fixed manner and is accommodated in the hinge eye of the first hinge half in a rotational manner. In addition, the door brake comprises at least one engaging part which is supported against one of the hinge halves, and has at least one braking or stopping part. Said braking or stopping part is assigned to the engaging part and is supported against the other hinge half.

  • Patent number: 5918347
Abstract: A motor vehicle door lock for use with a motor vehicle door hinge having two hinge halves connectable, respectively, with two parts of a door assembly, a door and a door pillar, and pivotally connected with each other by a hinge pin, the door lock including a cylinder housing fixedly connectable with one of the two hinge halves connectable with one part of the door assembly, a cylinder stem received in the cylinder housing and fixedly connectable with another of the two hinge halves connectable with another part of the door assembly, and at least one locking member arranged in the cylinder housing or the cylinder stem with a possibility of a radial adjustment.
