  • Publication number: 20040251648
Abstract: Fold flat walking or jogging strollers, as well as various fold flat cargo carrier devices are disclosed, which include at least three wheels which may have pivoting wheel support units and alternative foldable support frame embodiments are disclosed. The wheel support units include, in various embodiments, simple manually manipulable methods to latch each wheel in the operative or stowed flat positions, which effectively allows the device to fold to a flat profile without any part or wheel being detached. Associated innovations include a unique forward wheel folding system, a pivoting or floating transverse axle replicating unit (“false axle”), which pivots and latches to replicate a typical fixed wheel axle, but conveniently pivots to a fold flat stowed position.

  • Patent number: 6729647
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for folding and stowing of a steering assembly in combination with virtually any nature of wheeled devices which include at least one “steerable” wheel, so that a more thin, stowed profile is achieved. All components of the steering assembly/dashboard are integrated into a generally parallel plane and profile without use of a separate “steering column,” so that the assembly, when folded, is conveniently stowed within the side elevational profile of the wheeled device. The folding steering assembly embodiments may be adapted to any steerable wheeled devices, with fixed or stowable wheels, whether user occupied, or remote controlled, and including wheeled devices specially equipped with implements (e.g., material handling, imaging, scientific or measurement, agricultural, landscaping, lawn-mowing as but a few examples).

  • Publication number: 20030127835
Abstract: Fold flat wheeled child and cargo carriers adopting pivoting, stowable wheel axles are disclosed, of the general type which may be trailed behind other devices by a stowable and removable tow bar. The carriers may be trailed behind other devices, or are convertible to strollers or push/pull style devices. The pivoting wheel axles in various embodiments, include simple manually manipulable methods to latch each wheel in the operative or stowed flat positions, which effectively allows the device to fold to an ultra-thin profile without any wheel being detached, and the wheel axles and tires, in the stowed positions also secondarily serve to retain the various folding parts in their stowed positions within the device side elevational profile. In the child trailer and cargo carriers, the tow bar, carrier walls and associated parts all fold flat to the device frame, along with the wheel axles and tires.

  • Patent number: 6581945
Abstract: A wheeled carrier device is provided which, in one embodiment, includes a plurality of foldable walls supported on a base member and movable between an erected state wherein the walls define a carrier space and a collapsed state wherein the walls are folded on top of the base member. The carrier device has at least two wheels and a wheel mounting assembly pivotably mounts the wheels on the device on opposite sides thereof such that, in one embodiment, the wheels are movable through 270° from a first, operative position wherein the wheels support the carrier device and a second, inoperative position wherein upon release of a latching mechanism the wheels are folded over on top of the folded walls in the collapsed state thereof. A handle is affixed to the carrier device and is movable between an operative state wherein the handle can be used to pull the carrier device and an inoperative state wherein the handle is stowed in substantially flush relation with the remainder of the carrier.

  • Patent number: 4418819
Abstract: A dual container apparatus is provided which enables two different materials to be contained in the same integral unit separately from one another and to be dispensed separately from their associated container, while that container is still connected to, or is separated from, the other container. Each container includes a detachable cover and these covers are hinged to a common cover member. The covers are also detachably connected together by the common cover member so that the containers can be stacked. A projection and socket arrangement is used to connect each of the covers to the common cover member. In one embodiment, the sockets are formed by a plurality of apertures in the covers which also serve to dispense the materials contained therein (e.g. salt and pepper) and the common cover member includes corresponding projections.
