  • Publication number: 20180366157
Abstract: A video storage apparatus is described which stores and provides access to a video sequence of images. The apparatus comprises an array of storage devices, each image in the sequence being stored on at least one of the storage devices in the array, or being distributed across the array of storage devices with each portion being independently reproducible. A driver is provided, the driver being operable to access the video sequence by reading images in time order from the array of storage devices, temporally adjacent ones of the images, or different portions of the same image, being read by the driver from different storage devices in the array. In this way, an array of independent drives can be used to store video and allow much faster access to the stored video than would be the case with a single drive, and in a way which is more robust to drive failure.

  • Publication number: 20080029490
Abstract: A method of installing flooring and resulting structure are disclosed. The method is particularly useful for sanitary nonslip (or slip resistant) applications such as kitchens. The method includes the steps of positioning a first sheet of polymer flooring material with an upwardly-facing step cut along one edge of the first sheet on a floor to be covered, and applying a second sheet of polymer flooring material with a complementary downwardly-facing step cut along one edge of the second sheet to the upwardly facing step cut of the first sheet and to the floor adjacent the first sheet while concurrently sealing or bonding the respective faces to one another in a step lap joint.

  • Publication number: 20070223574
Abstract: A method of and system for transmitting video images preferably allows a specially trained individual to remotely supervise, instruct, and observe administration of medical tests conducted at remote locations. This system preferably includes a source device, a transmitting device, and at least one remote receiving device. The transmitting device, and the remote receiving device communicate over a network such as any appropriate data network. The transmitting device transmits the video images to the remote receiving device either for live display from the source device or for pre-recorded display from a video recorder device. The remote receiving device is also capable of communicating with the transmitting device while simultaneously receiving video images to provide remote control. The source device is preferably a medical test device such as an ultrasound, a sonogram, an echocardiogram, an angioplastigram, and the like.

  • Publication number: 20060067408
Abstract: Methods, medium, and machines which compress, encode, enhance, transmit, decompress and display digital video images in real time. Real time compression is achieved by sub-sampling each frame of a video signal, encoding and filtering the pixel values to codes, and run-length encoding the codes. Real time transmission is achieved due to high levels of effective compression. Real time decompression is achieved by decoding and decompressing the encoded data to display high quality images.

  • Publication number: 20050192953
Abstract: A graphical user interface is for building Boolean queries and viewing search results using search cells, combination cells, a toolbar, and a menu bar. The search cells are movable within a workspace and preferably contain a text field, a facet type designation, an advanced button and a hit count. Search cells can search records by a category, keyword, date or numeric value. Categories are preferably chosen with the assistance of a category walker. The combination cells are movable within the workspace and preferably contain a combine icon, a hit count and an expression field. The combination cell is a Boolean combination of two or more selected search cells. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the Boolean logic is graphically depicted with the use of combination brackets. The contents of each combination bracket is controllable by the use of movable graphical pins that are located between each pair of search cells.
