  • Patent number: 9707823
Abstract: The disclosed air-conditioning system for a vehicle driven by a motor, has a refrigerant circuit with a plurality of heat exchangers through which a refrigerant can be conducted for an exchange of heat with the air which flows through them, and has a heat pump heat exchanger in which an exchange of heat with a coolant circuit, in which at least one coolant cooler is arranged, takes place. It is possible for the coolant cooler, in the heating mode, to be used as a heat exchanger for absorbing heat from the environment. It is possible for the coolant cooler to be connected in series downstream of the heat pump heat exchanger in the coolant circuit A method for regulating such an air-conditioning system is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8607855
Abstract: The invention relates to an air-conditioning system for a motor-driven vehicle, having a refrigerant circuit (20) with a plurality of heat exchangers (4, 24) through which a refrigerant can be conducted for an exchange of heat with the air which flows through them, with it being possible for the heat exchangers (4, 24) to be operated as heaters or as evaporators as a function of the operating state of the air-conditioning system, and at least one third heat exchanger (16) is provided in the refrigerant circuit (20), which third heat exchanger (16) serves for an exchange of heat with a coolant circuit (13) which is formed separately from the refrigerant circuit (20). The vehicle can be both a motor vehicle and also a fuel-cell-driven vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20080223064
Abstract: The invention relates to an air-conditioning system (1) for a vehicle driven by a motor (16), having a refrigerant circuit (5) with a plurality of heat exchangers (2, 11) through which a refrigerant can be conducted for an exchange of heat with the air which flows through them, and having a heat pump heat exchanger (9) in which an exchange of heat with a coolant circuit (6), in which at least one coolant cooler (19) is arranged, takes place, with it being possible for the coolant cooler (19), in the heating mode, to be used as a heat exchanger for absorbing heat from the environment, and with the coolant cooler (19) being connected in series downstream of the heat pump heat exchanger (9) in the coolant circuit (6), and to a method for regulating an air-conditioning system (1) of said type.

  • Publication number: 20080196424
Abstract: One embodiment relates to a method for preventing evaporator core freezing in an air conditioning system, comprising determining the occurrence of an evaporator core freezing condition for a first one of a plurality of evaporators. Determining the occurrence of an evaporator core freezing condition may be done without measuring the air out temperature first evaporator. The method also comprises adjusting an operating parameter of the air conditioning system to eliminate the core freezing condition.
