Abstract: A popcorn cooking includes a cooking receptacle for use over a heat source and a means for stirring popcorn contained within it. The stirring means consists of a single stirring rod inserted through the cover of the cooking receptacle. The stirring rod, in one embodiment, consists of a rod-like member, or stirring rod, descending generally vertically downwardly from a cover of the cooking receptacle toward the floor of the cooking receptacle. A second embodiment of the stirring rod provides for a unique “double bend” type rod design. A third embodiment of the stirring rod provides for a unique spring loaded stirring rod. And a fourth embodiment provides for V-shaped sweeping member.
