  • Patent number: 9205781
Abstract: Improvements using a door sensors or monitoring the vehicle CAN bus to determine when a door is opened or closed to simplify installation of a retractable door step to send a wireless or wired command to a step. Upon door movement the transmitter sends an open status message to a receiver where the message data is stored and the controller determines the correct responses. The step remains lowered until the receiver stops receiving messages indicating a door is closed or the transmitter on an open door has timed out ceasing transmissions. The step extension mechanism is a two-bar link that transfers rotation from a sealed waterproof motor and transmission to extend and retract the step.

  • Patent number: 8662512
Abstract: Improvements using a wireless door sensor in each door to eliminate modifying a vehicle wiring and simplify installation of a retractable step and controller for the step. Up to four magnetic door sensors/transmitter are mounted on the edge of each door jamb. A magnet is mounted in the door jamb in proximity to the transmitter's magnetic sensor when the door is closed. The transmitter operates in a sleep mode until the sensor state changes. Upon door movement the transmitter sends an open status message to a receiver where the message data is stored and the controller determines the correct responses. If a door on either side is open the receiver engages the appropriate step motor and lowers the step. The step remains lowered until the receiver stops receiving messages indicating a door is closed or the transmitter on an open door has timed out ceasing transmissions.

  • Patent number: 4966979
Abstract: A novel process is described for preparing azetidine and 2 or 3 methyl and ethyl azetidine free bases by reacting primary arylmethylamine having suitable bulk providing substituents attached to the methyl carbon and an appropriate propane derivative having leaving groups in the one and three position in hot organic solvent containing a non-nucleophilic base and an amount of water sufficient to promote azetidine ring formation to give N-protected-azetidines and deprotecting by hydrogenolysis under acidic conditions to give an acid salt of the azetidines and thereafter flashing off vaporized azetidine from a hot, agitated strong base solution or slurry and condensing to give the liquid azetidine free bases.

  • Patent number: 4594189
Abstract: An improved process is disclosed for preparing 3-phenoxyazetidines which utilizes a phase transfer catalyst to add the phenoxy group to azetidine blocked in the 1-position by a diphenylmethane group and utilizes a stabilizing tertiary amine base to prevent dimerization during hydrogenolysis to remove the blocking group. The crude product containing diphenylmethane may be used without purification to prepare 3-phenoxy-1-azetidinecarboxamides.
