  • Patent number: 5135836
Abstract: A polyolefin coating provides slip and antiblock properties to a multilayer, peel-apart photosensitive element.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 20, 1991

  • Patent number: 4888381
Abstract: A crystalline polyester film or sheet coated with a priming composition consisting essentially of a carboxyl group-containing copolyester, wherein the carboxyl groups are introduced either by treatment of the terminal hydroxyl groups of the copolyester with a dicarboxylic acid anhydride or by pyrolysis of the copolyester. Such primer compositions form continuous wet films and dry coatings and provide surfaces receptive to a variety of surface finishes such as further polymer coatings and inks. Further, the primer-coated polyester can be recycled and can be used in applications where the coating is in contact with food articles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 14, 1988
Date of Patent: December 19, 1989
Assignee: E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and Company
    Inventor: Richard P. Pankratz
  • Patent number: 4882379
Abstract: A crystalline polyester film or sheet coated with a primer composition consisting essentially of a carboxylated polyurethane, wherein the carboxyl groups are introduced by esterifying the terminal hydroxyl groups and amidizing any terminal amine groups of the polyurethane with a dicarboxylic acid anhydride. Such primer compositions form continuous wet films and dry coatings and provide surfaces receptive to a variety of surface finishes such as further polymer coatings and inks.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 14, 1988
Date of Patent: November 21, 1989
Assignee: E.I. Du Pont De Nemours and Company
    Inventor: Richard P. Pankratz
  • Patent number: 4241169
Abstract: To improve adhesion of a hydrophilic photographic emulsion to a hydrophobic polyester film base the latter is pretreated by electrical discharge, flame or chemical treatment, and then given a sub-coating composed of an aqueous dispersion of gelatin, a water-soluble polyester, and a polyfunctional aziridine crosslinking agent, and this coating is then thermally cured.
