  • Publication number: 20240185461
Abstract: An illustrative camera calibration system may identify a common feature present within a scene and visible in each of 1) a first image of the scene captured by a first camera from a first pose represented by a first set of calibration parameters, and 2) a second image of the scene captured by a second camera from a second pose represented by a second set of calibration parameters. The system may estimate a 3D position of the common feature with respect to a global coordinate system associated with the scene and determine that the first set of calibration parameters is more accurate than the second set of calibration parameters. In response to this determination, the system may revise the second set of calibration parameters based on the estimated 3D position of the common feature and the first set of calibration parameters. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11983819
Abstract: An illustrative 3D modeling system accesses 1) a 3D body model bounded by vertices forming an unadorned body (without hair or clothing), and 2) a 2D image depicting an adorned subject (with hair and/or clothing). The set of vertices is configurable to simulate different subjects based on a set of parameters and the adorned subject is outlined in the 2D image by a set of silhouette pixels. The 3D modeling system maps the silhouette pixels to vertices of a particular cross section of the 3D body model using an optimization function configured to even out a distribution of silhouette pixels to vertices. Based on the mapping, the 3D modeling system defines the set of parameters to deform the 3D body model such that the particular cross section conforms to an outline of the adorned subject formed by the set of silhouette pixels. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11962663
Abstract: Server-specified subscription filters for long-lived client requests to fetch data in response to events. In one aspect, the techniques encompass a method performed by a set of one or more computing devices. The method includes the step of receiving a long-lived request to fetch data in response to events sent by a client computing device. The method further includes receiving a server-specified subscription filter for the long-lived request and executing the long-lived request. Executing the long-lived request includes creating a persistent function that uses the server-specified subscription filter to map a source event stream to a response event stream. The response event stream is provided to the client computing device. The server-specified subscription filter facilitates filtering of events fetched for the long-lived request in a way that may not be possible or impractical if the subscription client were required to specify the filter in the long-lived request.

  • Publication number: 20240084235
Abstract: An organomimetic device includes a microfluidic device that can be used to culture cells in its microfluidic channels. The organomimetic device can be part of dynamic system that can apply mechanical forces to the cells by modulating the microfluidic device and the flow of fluid through the microfluidic channels. The membrane in the organomimetic device can be modulated mechanically via pneumatic means and/or mechanical means. The organomimetic device can be manufactured by the fabrication of individual components separately, for example, as individual layers that can be subsequently laminated together.

  • Publication number: 20240070884
Abstract: An image processing system uses a depth-conditioned autoencoder to generate a modified image from an input image such that the modified image maintains an overall structure from the input image while modifying textural features. An encoder of the depth-conditioned autoencoder extracts a structure latent code from an input image and depth information for the input image. A generator of the depth-conditioned autoencoder generates a modified image using the structure latent code and a texture latent code. The modified image generated by the depth-conditioned autoencoder includes the structural features from the input image while incorporating textural features of the texture latent code. In some aspects, the autoencoder is depth-conditioned during training by augmenting training images with depth information. The autoencoder is trained to preserve the depth information when generating images.

  • Publication number: 20230306682
Abstract: Augmented reality systems provide graphics over views from a mobile device for both in-venue and remote viewing of a sporting or other event. A server system can provide a transformation between the coordinate system of a mobile device (smart phone, tablet computer, head mounted display) and a real world coordinate system. Requested graphics for the event are displayed over a view of an event.
