  • Patent number: 7347327
Abstract: A receptacle, which is adapted for nesting and stacking with similar receptacles. The invention, the receptacle is intended in particular to be utilized as a food pan for the receiving and storing of hot or cold food items, and, which may be employed in connection with buffet or steam tables, among other diverse uses thereof. The receptacle is preferably constituted of a metallic material, such as aluminum or stainless steel, which is compatible with food service requirements and sanitary prescriptions or regulations having a generally rectangular flat bottom, and wherein lower side and end walls extend upwardly in an outwardly angled slope from rounded edges connecting the receptacle bottom to the lower ends of the walls. At the upper ends of each of the side and end walls, these extend into outwardly and upwardly curved wall structures, which form a curvilinear ledge.

  • Publication number: 20070100215
Abstract: The present invention determines the resonant frequency of a wireless sensor by adjusting the phase and frequency of an energizing signal until the frequency of the energizing signal matches the resonant frequency of the sensor. The system energizes the sensor with a low duty cycle, gated burst of RF energy having a predetermined frequency. The system receives the ring down response of the sensor and determines the resonant frequency of the sensor, which is used to calculate a physical parameter. The system uses a pair of phase locked loops to adjust the phase and the frequency of the energizing signal. The system identifies false locks by detecting an unwanted beat frequency in the coupled signal, as well as determining whether the coupled signal exhibits pulsatile characteristics that correspond to a periodic physiological characteristic, such as blood pressure.

  • Publication number: 20060221572
Abstract: A tubular stud-nut providing precise, adjustable physical separation between a first and second component. The stud-nut includes male threads on the external cylindrical surface and female threads on the internal surface of the axial bore. The stud-nut also includes a mechanical keying slot to facilitate turning of the stud-nut within a threaded mating hole located within the first component, thus enabling axial adjustment of the stud-nut by extension and retraction. With the stud-nut positioned in the mating hole of the first component, the two components are placed into relative position, Turning the stud-nut with respect to its mating hole, the stud-nut is adjusted to contact the surface of the second component. A locking fastener is threaded into the stud-nut through a concentric aperture in the second component, thereby locking said two components precisely in place. Alternatively, the stud-nut may be used to provide precision adjustment between said components.

  • Patent number: 7016891
Abstract: A system and method is described which provides for context checking of an operating environment. A context manager controls the execution of context checks requested by applications or processes. In one embodiment, the context check modules are defined as self-contained modules located in a database. When the data base is opened, these modules are loaded and registered with the context manager. Upon occurrence of certain user actions, the context manager will issue an event to cause the appropriate modules to perform a context check of certain context of the environment. The resulting context information is stored in memory by the context manager and provided to the applications by the context manager when needed. One advantage is that the context checks performed can be changed simply by adding or deleting modules from the database.
