Patent number: 8844067Abstract: A device to shut-off a water supply to a toilet diverts water from a toilet fill valve to a shut-off valve that has a housing that includes a valve mechanism, a trip mechanism, and a trip circuit. The trip mechanism includes a rotational spring that urges closing of the valve mechanism. A trip latch is adapted to prevent closing of the valve mechanism except when withdrawn from the valve mechanism by a solenoid that is electrically connected to the trip circuit. The trip circuit includes at least one trip sensor input and a power source, such that when the trip circuit detects a fault condition on any of the trip sensors, the trip circuit connects power to the solenoid to withdraw the solenoid to close the valve mechanism. A rest knob may then be rotated to reset the valve mechanism into a valve-open position.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2012Date of Patent: September 30, 2014Assignee: Ceto Technologies Holdings, LLCInventors: Richard Quintana, David Millar, Kermit L. Publication number: 20070277301Abstract: A two-piece toilet aquarium assembly is disclosed. The assembly is adapted to replace a conventional toilet water tank in an existing two-piece toilet assembly and comprises a separate aquarium tank and a toilet water tank adapted to be mounted on a toilet bowl. The toilet water tank provides water for flushing of the toilet bowl and includes a push-button that is operably connected to a toilet flapper flush mechanism. The aquarium tank is removably coupled to the toilet water tank and defines an interior space for holding a water reservoir where aquatic creatures, ornamental objects, a terrarium and the like can be enclosed. A lid substantially covers the top of the toilet aquarium assembly. The aquarium tank and toilet water tank are generally transparent.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 1, 2006Publication date: December 6, 2007Inventor: Richard Quintana

Patent number: 6934977Abstract: Water leak detecting or overflow devices for a toilet may be inserted into or formed integrally with the toilet. The devices include at least one water leak sensor assembly mounted in a position in a toilet tank so as to detect the rise and fall of the water level in the toilet tank and an overflow detector in a toilet bowl. If the water level rises and falls a predetermined number of times, or if water continues to flow to the toilet longer than a measured increment of time, a microprocessor operates a normally-open valve and shuts off flow of water to the toilet tank. The devices also include a second sensor, whereby if a flapper remains open or water reaches a level where it might overflow the bowl or tank and stays there for a predetermined period of time, the microprocessor will also shut off flow to the toilet.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2002Date of Patent: August 30, 2005Inventors: Richard Quintana, Devon Niccole

Patent number: 6877170Abstract: A toilet water measuring and flow control system, including leak and overflow detection and prevention elements. The system has inlet and outlet flow sensors operably connected to inlet and outlet control valves and to water level sensors to measure and control water flow to and from the toilet. Water level sensors held in a toilet tank are connected to the system to control the volume of water fed to the toilet tank and passing through the outlet. The toilet tank may be provided with a movable reservoir to more accurately control the amount of water held in the tank and exiting the tank upon flushing.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2003Date of Patent: April 12, 2005Assignee: Niccole Family TrustInventors: Richard Quintana, Devon Niccole

Publication number: 20030001025Abstract: A microprocessor-operated valve is held in a showerhead to shut off flow of water if a leak detector measures any water leakage. The valve is mounted in a conduit in the showerhead and operated to shut off water flow if the water leak detector senses leakage from the showerhead. An electric motor is held in the showerhead and actuated to drive a gear train to close the normally-open valve and shut off water flow through the conduit.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2001Publication date: January 2, 2003Inventor: Richard Quintana

Publication number: 20020095721Abstract: One or more microprocessor-operated flow control devices are connected to one or more waterlines to shut off flow of water if a leak detector measures any water leakage. The one or more flow control devices are operated to shut off water flow upon the water leak detector sensing leakage and sending an electrical or an RF signal to microprocessors in housings. An electric motor is actuated in each housing to drive a gear train to close a normally-open valve and shut off water flow through the one or more waterlines. The present invention is an easily-added-on, simplified device for use with any waterline to prevent damage and the wasting of water through leakage.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2001Publication date: July 25, 2002Inventor: Richard Quintana

Patent number: 6367096Abstract: A microprocessor-operated flow control device for a toilet to prevent flooding upon obstructing of a waste outlet of a toilet bowl also includes a leak detector for measuring any water leakage from a toilet tank. The device includes a water level sensor assembly mounted on a clip held over a rim of the toilet bowl so as to hold the water level sensor assembly in a predetermined position within the toilet bowl, and a leak detecting element held in the interior of the toilet tank. If water bridges contacts on the water level sensor assembly, an electrical circuit or an RF connection is completed to the microprocessor in a housing, and an electric motor is actuated to drive a gear train to close a normally opened valve and shut off water to the water tank of the toilet. If a water leak is detected, an electrical or an RF signal is sent to the microprocessor to shut off water flow to the water tank.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2001Date of Patent: April 9, 2002Assignee: Niccole Family TrustInventor: Richard Quintana

Patent number: 6058519Abstract: A flow control device for a toilet to prevent flooding upon obstructing of a waste outlet of a toilet bowl. The device includes a sensor assembly mounted on a clip held over a rim of the toilet bowl so as to hold the sensor assembly in a predetermined position within the toilet bowl. The clip may include adjustable elements thereon to enable the height of the sensor assembly to be adjusted, depending on the size and type of toilet in which it is affixed. If water bridges contacts on the sensor assembly, an electrical circuit is completed, and a solenoid is actuated to close a normally opened valve to shut off running water to the water tank of the toilet.
