Publication number: 20230217578Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for grounding a person lying on a mattress. Such grounding may connect a user's body to the earth and enable electrical discharge off the human body. The systems and methods may include a mattress pad having conductive inner and outer layers. The mattress pad may also include an insulating interior layer having a flame-retardant layer, a first foam layer, and a second foam layer. The mattress pad may also include a conductive edge ribbon configured to electrically couple the inner and outer layers, as well as a grounding terminal. A grounding cable may be realized to ground the inner layer, outer layer, and conductive edge ribbon. The grounded mattress then grounds the human body, allowing it to get closer to a natural electrical potential. This can reduce static electricity, static shocks and enhance quality sleep. The mattress will also improve shielding from electromagnetic fields (EMFs).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 8, 2022Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: Carico International, LLCInventors: RICHARD R. Patent number: 10662076Abstract: A fluid-filtering apparatus includes an upper cartridge and a lower cartridge. The upper cartridge includes a fluid-filtering first tube that surrounds and extends along an axis and that defines a first-tube cavity. An axially-extending fluid-filtering second tube is located within the first-tube cavity and defines a second-tube cavity. The lower cartridge includes an axially-extending third tube that defines a third cavity. An axially-extending fluid-filtering fourth tube, of the lower cartridge, is located within the third cavity and defines a fourth-tube cavity. The upper and lower cartridges are coupled together and contained within a casing.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2019Date of Patent: May 26, 2020Assignee: CARICO INTERNATIONAL, INC.Inventors: Richard R. Cappadona, Ronald David Webb

Patent number: 10273164Abstract: A fluid-filtering apparatus includes an upper cartridge and a lower cartridge. The upper cartridge includes a permeable fluid-filtering first tube that surrounds and extends along an axis and that defines a first-tube cavity. An axially-extending permeable fluid-filtering second tube is located within the first-tube cavity and defines a second-tube cavity. The lower cartridge includes an axially-extending impermeable third tube that defines a third cavity. An axially-extending permeable fluid-filtering fourth tube, of the lower cartridge, is located within the third cavity and defines a fourth-tube cavity. The upper and lower cartridges are coupled together and contained within an impermeable casing.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2016Date of Patent: April 30, 2019Assignee: CARICO INTERNATIONAL, INC.Inventors: Richard R. Patent number: 9408485Abstract: A bed pillow is made of elastic foam material. The pillow's top surface extends along both a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction that are mutually perpendicular, follows a top undulating pattern in the longitudinal direction, and is uniform in the lateral direction. The pillow's bottom surface is opposite the top surface, follows a bottom undulating pattern in the longitudinal direction, and is uniform in the lateral direction. The pillow's front surface and a rear surface extend from the top surface to the bottom surface, and are uniform in the lateral direction. The pillow has two laterally-opposite parallel planar side surfaces that extend from the top surface to the bottom surface and extend from the front surface to the rear surface.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2015Date of Patent: August 9, 2016Assignee: CARICO INTERNATIONAL, INC.Inventors: Richard R. Patent number: 9167909Abstract: A mattress core has front and rear ends that are spaced apart in a longitudinal direction and further has opposite sides that are spaced apart in a lateral direction. The core includes a firmer lower core section having a top surface that follows an undulating pattern. The undulating pattern is non-uniform and non-symmetric in the longitudinal direction, is uniform in the lateral direction, and includes at least one hill, at least one valley and at least one plateau. The core further includes a softer upper core section that overlies the lower core section. The upper core section has a bottom surface that follows the undulating pattern and contacts the lower core section's top surface to provide a common mating interface that follows the undulating pattern. The interface includes at least one hill, at least one valley and at least one plateau.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2014Date of Patent: October 27, 2015Inventors: Richard R. Cappadona, Igor Zunkovic
