    Abstract: Material droplet generator systems utilizing single-wire arc spray apparatus and methods are provided. In some embodiments, the apparatus include a single consumable, first wire electrode fed through a gas nozzle and a non-consumable, second electrode outside of and proximate a nozzle exit. In some embodiments, the second electrode may have at least a terminal or end portion having an axis that is oriented substantially perpendicular to an axis of the gas nozzle. The first wire electrode may form an angle of 5 degrees or less with the axis of the gas nozzle. Preferably, the first wire electrode forms an anode while the second electrode forms a cathode. In operation, the apparatus and methods produce a narrow beam thermal spray, which, when deposited upon a substrate surface, results in a high definition spray pattern and coating having distinct boundaries and a controllable thickness.

    Abstract: A process for a production basis relief decorating of ceramic articles. In place of conventional, manual application of relief features, the process provides for a special technique for screen printing of relief features onto the surface of a transfer decal sheet, typically a decal sheet that has previously been printed with a conventional, two-dimensional primary design. The new process includes a screen printing stencil of unusual thickness, at least 0.015" and up to as much as 0.125", characterized by having unrestricted non-convergent through openings. Ceramic inks are formulated to heavy viscosity, having a characteristic comparable to peanut butter, with a viscosity in excess of one million cps. The ink is flow resistant in character, and is forced through the stencil openings by a slow-moving squeegee. The squeegee action is such as to provide increased dwell time of the ink with the surface of the transfer decal paper, before lifting of the stencil.

    Abstract: A product for inhibiting corrosion of corrodible items within closed containers which comprises a powdered solid composition capable of producing and releasing a vapor phase corrosion inhibiting compound. The powdered composition is enclosed within a sealed envelope which is formed of a sheet material impermeable to the powdered composition, but which is porous to the released vapor phase corrosion inhibiting compound released from the powdered composition. The vapor phase corrosion inhibiting compound produced and released by the powdered composition migrates through the sheet material and permeates the environment of a closed container of corrodible items.
