  • Patent number: 4695981
Abstract: A memory cell array with supporting circuitry is presented in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention. Within the memory cell array, each wordline is segmented and each segment is selected accumulatively. Selecting segments accumulatively limits the average number of capacitors within the memory cells which are discharged per memory access, limiting power consumption and limits the attendant increase in chip complexity.
