  • Patent number: 4256611
Abstract: A liquid detergent system wherein the active content is a combination of an anionic surfactant and a nonionic surfactant in the form of ethoxylated partial glycerol esters of a higher, detergent grade fatty acid and optionally containing a foam stabilizing agent. These systems are particularly useful for formulating shampoos and light duty liquid household cleaning compositions having low eye and skin irritation properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 18, 1979
Date of Patent: March 17, 1981
    Assignee: Sherex Chemical Company, Inc.
Inventors: Richard R. Egan, Phillip L. Cotrell
  • Patent number: 4247425
Abstract: A liquid detergent system wherein the active content is a combination of an anionic surfactant and a nonionic surfactant in the form of alkoxylated partial glycerol esters of a detergent grade fatty acid and optionally containing a foam stabilizing agent. The indicated nonionics are characterized in having a polyoxyalkylene chain composed of randomly distributed oxyethylene and oxypropylene residues. These systems are particularly useful for formulating shampoos and light duty liquid household cleaning compositions having low eye and skin irritation properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 7, 1979
Date of Patent: January 27, 1981
    Assignee: Sherex Chemical Company, Inc.
Inventors: Richard R. Egan, Phillip L. Cotrell
  • Patent number: 4107345
Abstract: Improved particulate dehydrated potatoes are prepared by a process in which both a food additive amount of ethoxylated monoglyceride and a food additive amount of an edible monoglyceride (e.g. GMS) are incorporated into the potatoes prior to dehydration.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 23, 1971

    Assignee: Ashland Oil, Inc.
Inventors: Ira A. MacDonald, Richard R. Egan
  • Patent number: 4098822
Abstract: A mixture of specified long chain aliphatic alcohols is contacted at atmospheric pressure and at an elevated temperature with ammonia in the presence of a hydrogenation-dehydrogenation catalyst while continuously removing water of reaction and excess ammonia, to produce a mixture of aliphatic amines predominating in secondary amines. Such amine product is quaternized to yield corresponding mixtures of fabric softening quaternary ammonium compounds capable of providing aqueous dispersions thereof exhibiting outstanding stability characteristics at low concentrations of active content.
