  • Patent number: 5847195
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing compounds containing aspartate and aldimine groups corresponding to the formula ##STR1## by a) reacting 50 to 95 mole % of the primary amino groups present in a polyamine containing 2 to 6 primary amino groups with a maleic or fumaric acid ester until at least 98% of the unsaturated groups have reacted andb) subsequently reacting the remaining primary amino groups with an aldehyde.

  • Patent number: 5756751
Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds containing alkoxysilane and hydantoin groups and corresponding to the formula ##STR1## wherein X represents identical or different organic groups which are inert to isocyanate groups below 100.degree. C., provided that at least one of these groups is an alkoxy group,Z represents COOR.sub.1 or an aromatic ring,R represents the residue obtained by removing the isocyanate groups from an organic monomeric polyisocyanate, a polyisocyanate adduct or an NCO prepolymer,R.sub.1 represents an organic group which is inert to isocyanate groups at a temperature of 100.degree. C. or less,R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are identical or different and represent hydrogen or organic groups which are inert to isocyanate groups at a temperature of 100.degree. C. or less,n is an integer from 1 to 8 andm has an average value of 1.5 to 6.The present invention also relates to the use of these compounds for the preparation coatings, sealants and adhesives.

  • Patent number: 5258482
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a polyisocyanate mixture whichi) has an NCO content of 10 to 47% by weight,ii) is prepared from a mixture of 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate and a cyclic organic diisocyanate having (cyclo)aliphatically-bound isocyanate groups in a molar ratio of 10:90 to 90:10 andiii) contains isocyanurate and allophanate groups in a molar ratio of monoisocyanurates to monoallophanates of 10:1 to 1:5, wherein the allophanate groups are formed from urethane groups which are based on the reaction product of an organic diisocyanate having (cyclo)aliphatically bound isocyanate groups and a monoalcohol containing at least 1 carbon atom and having a molecular weight of up to 2500.The present invention is also directed to a process for the production of these polyisocyanate mixtures and to their use, optionally in blocked form, as an isocyanate component in two-component coating compositions.

  • Patent number: 5202406
Abstract: A high solids, chip resistant, sprayable polyurethane coating composition comprising the reaction mixture of a ketoxime-blocked polyisocyanate and a cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid-based polyester polyol, is disclosed. The composition is characterized by its relatively low viscosity and the resulting coating is characterized by its low volatile organic content.

  • Patent number: 4342534
Abstract: Apparatus for retracting and securing the grapple head (22) of a grapple skidder (10) for travel over rough terrain in an unloaded condition. A pair of cables (94, 96) of equal length are attached to the grapple head at points laterally spaced from the vertical pivot axis of the grapple head. The cables extend through a guide member (100) on the grapple arch (20) and are wound together onto a winch (24) mounted on the skidder frame (14). The guide member has a relatively large opening (106) flared outwardly and downwardly facing the grapple head, and a relatively smaller opening (108) flared outwardly and downwardly facing the winch. In normal operation of the grapple, the cables are left slack. When the grapple head is to be secured for travel, the cables are winched in. Since the cables are wound together, they retract together regardless of the relative tension in each cable, such that the grapple head automatically becomes centered square to the back of the skidder when the cables are winched in.
