  • Patent number: 5440695
Abstract: A combination input/output (I/O) module for a microprocessor based device is disclosed. The combination I/O module includes a combination point which is operable as either an input point adapted for coupling to an input device, an output point adapted for coupling to an output device, or both. The combination I/O module provides continuous sensing of the presence or absence of the output device. The combination I/O module includes a triac and provides for continuous sensing of the conductive state of the triac.

  • Patent number: 5119013
Abstract: A switching regulator power supply has multiple regulated and isolated voltage outputs. This is accomplished without the use of separate voltage regulators for each output voltage or extra transformer windings in the input circuitry of the power supply. Instead of an inductor, the primary winding of a transformer is used as the inductive component required in switching type regulators and is connected in series with the first output voltage. The secondary winding provides an isolated second output voltage. The primary to secondary turns ratio of the transformer determines the magnitude of the voltage.

  • Patent number: 4301508
Abstract: An A.C. electric power usage measuring and display system using microcomputer based digital processing. Power usage pulses optically sensed from a watthour meter rotary disc and time pulses sensed from the 60 Hz A.C. power line are input to a microprocessor that is programmed to calculate and display the day of the week 1 to 7, the time of day on a 24-hour clock basis, the total watthours and kilowatthours since the start of a billing period on a decimal basis, the peak interval watthours and kilowatthours on a decimal basis, the peak interval start time and end time on a 24-hour clock basis for a peak interval of predetermined time, the peak power demand in kilowatts on a decimal basis, the day of the peak demand on a weekly 1 to 7 basis, the time of the peak demand on a 24-hour clock basis, and the present demand in kilowatts on a decimal basis.
