  • Patent number: 10909881
Abstract: A system is provided including a styling tool configured to treat or shape a user's hair, and a client device configured to communicate with the styling tool and provide feedback to the user regarding a user's usage of the styling tool. The client device is configured to receive input information from the user regarding a desired result to be achieved using the styling tool, and to output guidance information on a method of using the styling tool to achieve the desired result.

  • Patent number: 10637244
Abstract: A method for voltage control of a static synchronous compensator, STATCOM, or a static var compensator, SVC, is presented. The method is performed in a control device. The method includes obtaining a synchronous condenser, SC, error, obtaining a STATCOM or SVC voltage setpoint, adjusting the obtained STATCOM or SVC voltage setpoint with the obtained SC error to a total STATCOM or SVC voltage reference, and providing the total STATCOM or SVC voltage reference for voltage control of the STATCOM or SVC. A control device and a computer program for voltage control of a STATCOM or an SVC are also presented.

  • Patent number: 9513650
Abstract: The invention relates to a method in an electric power system including one or more power generation source(s) and a dynamic power compensator having a battery energy storage. The method includes the steps of: detecting a frequency disturbance within the electricity power system requiring an additional power generation source to be connected to the electricity power system in order to meet a power demand; and controlling the power output from the battery energy storage of the dynamic power compensator during start-up of the additional power generation source thereby limiting the frequency disturbance within the electric power system. The invention also relates to a controller, computer program, computer program products and electric power system.

  • Patent number: 8470608
Abstract: The sensitivity of visually read lateral flow immunoassay tests is enhanced by adding a small quantity of fluorescing dye or fluorescing latex bead conjugates to the initial conjugate material. When the visible spectrum test line is visibly present, the test result is observed and recorded. However, in the case where the result is indeterminate, a light of an appropriate spectrum, such as a UV, visible, or infrared spectrum, is cast on the test line to excite and fluoresce the fluorescing latex beads which are bound in the test line in true positive tests to enhance the visible color at the test line.
