  • Patent number: 7468508
Abstract: A composite laser beam is swept as a pattern of scan lines on a projection surface, and selected pixels arranged along each scan line are illuminated to project an image of high quality and in color. A data frequency of a video signal supplied by a host is matched to a scan frequency of a scan mirror to reduce the amount of buffer memory required and to make the projected image brighter and more uniform in brightness.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 5, 2006
Date of Patent: December 23, 2008
    Assignee: Symbol Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: Daniel Borges DeLazari, Richard Rizza, Michael Slutsky, Askold Strat, Dmitriy Yavid
  • Patent number: 7367682
Abstract: A lightweight, compact image projection module, especially for mounting in a housing having a light-transmissive window, is operative for causing selected pixels in a raster pattern to be illuminated to produce an image of high resolution of VGA quality in color.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 26, 2005
Date of Patent: May 6, 2008
    Assignee: Symbol Technologies, Inc.

  • Patent number: 7352499
Abstract: A laser beam is swept by a scan mirror as a pattern of scan lines on a projection surface. The scan mirror moves at a variable speed along each scan line. Each scan line has a number of pixels. The pixels have time durations proportional to the variable speed of the scan mirror. A profile memory stores the time durations of the pixels. A controller causes selected pixels arranged along each scan line to be illuminated for the time durations stored by the profile memory to produce an image of uniform brightness and of uniformly sized pixels and in color.

  • Publication number: 20070279509
Abstract: An acousto-optical modulator modulates a green laser beam, and generates a modulated non-diffracted beam and a modulated diffracted beam. A scanner sweeps the modulated diffracted green beam, as well as modulated red and blue beams, as a pattern of scan lines, each scan line having a number of pixels. A controller causes selected pixels along the scan lines to be illuminated, and rendered visible, by the diffracted green beam, the red beam and the blue beam to produce the image. The non-diffracted green beam is employed in a laser shut-down safety circuit.

  • Patent number: 7139305
Abstract: A configurable cellular terminal engine (CTE) in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of this invention is configurable by an external agent (e.g., microcontroller, DSP, or state machine) to suit the particular requirements of different spread spectrum systems. In an exemplary embodiment, the CTE comprises on a chipset a modem unit and a channel codec unit. The modem unit has a front end unit for coupling to an antenna; a matched filter searchers unit coupled at least to the front end unit; a searchers unit coupled to at least the front end unit; a finger processing unit coupled to the front end unit; a parameter estimation processor unit coupled to at least the finger processing unit and the searchers unit; and a transmitter unit. The channel codec unit has a channel decoder unit coupled at least to the finger processing unit; and a channel encoder coupled at least to the transmitter unit.
