  • Publication number: 20130023757
Abstract: An interconnect for an RF detector coil comprises a substrate comprising strip of insulating material, a conducting layer formed on a first side of the substrate, and a ground layer formed on a second side of the substrate. At least one of the layers has a periodic pattern so that the conducting layer alternates along its length between capacitive regions which are opposite regions of the ground layer, and non-capacitive regions.

  • Publication number: 20120146667
Abstract: A resonant radiofrequency (RF) detector assembly comprising a substrate, a coil formed on a front surface of the substrate, and two capacitors, each capacitor having a front plate which is formed on the front surface of the substrate and a rear plate formed on a rear surface of the substrate, the two front plates each being electrically connected to a different end of the coil, and the two rear plates being electrically connected to each other.

  • Patent number: 7116481
Abstract: A tunable optical resonator for use as a tunable laser or optical filter comprising a cavity in which the cavity is delimited by a reflection grating and a reflector in which the reflection grating is fixed to a flexible support, the resonator also comprising means for flexing the flexible support for causing the grating to mimic rotation about a selected point. A micro-mechanical tunable resonator as above providing mode-hop free tuning.

  • Publication number: 20020191944
Abstract: A microlamp for holding a micropart in a desired position comprising a substrate (12) having an upper surface and a lower surface, and defining a throughhole (20) extending from the upper surface to the lower surface to have an upper opening and a lower opening; at least one first holding element (11, 15) secured to the substrate and provided at the upper end of the throughhole; and at least one second holding element (13, 14) secured to the substrate and provided at the lower end of the throughhole; the first and second holding elements arranged such that when, in use, the micropart is inserted into the throughhole it is held at least partially by the first and second holding elements such that it is located in the desired position along at least one direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the hole.

  • Patent number: 6433483
Abstract: An article of jewelry arranged to simulate natural optical effects, such as sparkle and scintillation, is described. The article comprises a jewel, such as a brilliant cut diamond and one or more light sources, such as colored LEDs, incorporated in the article of jewelry for emitting light so as to illuminate the jewel. The article also comprises a microcontroller for driving the one or more LEDs to cause them to emit light pulses of varying intensity thereby simulating said natural optical effects of the jewel. The duration of the light pulses and the location of each light pulse can be varied to enhance the artificial illumination. The article preferably has a cordless rechargeable power supply which avoids the need for unsightly electrical contacts by using an inductive loop charging circuit.
