  • Patent number: 7253942
Abstract: A lighting system is disclosed comprised of a plurality of image projection lighting devices including a first image projection lighting device. The first image projection lighting device is typically comprised of a microprocessor and a camera. The microprocessor and/or a command from a central controller can cause the camera to capture a first image of the projection surface and can cause the first image projection lighting device to produce a projected light which substantially reduces the nonuniformity of light intensity on the projection surface from the plurality of image projection lighting devices.

  • Patent number: 7210798
Abstract: The methods and apparatus for lighting systems provide a camera integral to a particular image projection lighting device (IPLD) to capture the projected image from the particular IPLD. The captured image can then be sent over a communication system to the operator for viewing on a visual display device such as a computer monitor on a central controller. Using the captured image of the projected image as viewed upon the display device, the operator may then command using the central controller the focusing, position or other parameters of the projected image upon the stage or projection surface to the desired value. The captured image may also be used, such as by a central control system, to automatically, and without operator intervention, adjust parameters of the IPLD to desired values.

  • Patent number: 7073910
Abstract: An improved image projection lighting device is disclosed. Commands received by a communications port of the base housing may be acted upon to change zoom and focus values of a zoom and focus lens. A cooling system may be provided which compares an input air temperature of the image projection lighting device to an exiting air temperature to determine if a filter needs service. A video projector may project a first image comprised of first, second, and third separate images and the first separate image can be faded up to project light that is void of an image by a first command received at the communications port.

  • Patent number: 6930456
Abstract: A lighting system includes a central controller and multiparameter lights, including IPLDs. A display of the multiparameter lights at the central controller includes the IPLDs and their image parameters, which are used to evoke a display of graphics tools at the central controller for originating images. Images originating at the central controller are transmitted to the IPLDs either by or under control of the central controller. The graphics tools may also be able to manipulate images. The central controller is provided with one or more image editors, which include the graphics tools. The outputs of the image editors, which are referred to as “image banks,” are routed to multiple multiparameter lights (including IPLDs) in accordance with assignments made by the operator of the central controller. The central controller also uses a collage display screen of a collage generator to allow the operator to select an image to collage.

  • Patent number: 6927545
Abstract: An improved multiparameter lighting fixture is provided comprising a base, a yoke, a lamp housing, and a communication port for receiving address and command signals. The lamp housing may be comprised of a lamp, a light valve, and a lens. The lamp, the light valve and the lens may cooperate to project, for example, an ownership image, a fixture identifier image, a time identifier image, a show identifier image, a content identifier image, or an effects identifier image. The lamp, the light valve and the lens may cooperate to produce a first image on a projection surface and a second image may be created from the first image by applying an interactive effect to the first image in response to an image captured by a camera.

  • Patent number: 6869193
Abstract: A lighting system is disclosed comprising a plurality of image projection lighting devices including a first image projection lighting device, a central controller, and a communications system which permits the central controller to communicate with the plurality of image projection lighting devices. The first image projection lighting device is comprised of a camera, and a light valve, wherein the light valve is used to project a first projected image onto a projection surface. The camera of the first image projection light device can capture at least a portion of the first projected image projected from the light valve to form a first captured image. At least a portion of the first captured image is projected as a second projected image by the first image projection lighting device onto the projection surface creating a video feedback loop.
