  • Publication number: 20160127771
Abstract: In some aspects, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for transporting multimedia data, such as ultra-high definition (UHD) video data or other video data, via a standard high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI), without requiring an increase in the link bit rate or increasing the number of signaling pairs. Display stream compression is utilized to compress a stream, and a transition minimized differential signal (TMDS) clock channel may be replaced by an ANSI 8b/10b encoded stream carrying additional data with a clock signal embedded within the stream. As this additional channel increases bandwidth by one-third, the systems and methods discussed herein provide four times more effective bandwidth than prior HDMI schemes, allowing UHD video to be transmitted via a signal HDMI link.

  • Patent number: 7239670
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for improving the waveform at a receiver. More specifically, the present invention relates to a system adapted to modify at least one signal in anticipation of channel attenuation and delay. The present invention comprises a memory adapted to store at least one coefficient that is pre-determined based on at least one expected degradation characteristic of a channel; and a pre-emphasizer communicating with at least the memory and the channel, and adapted to modify the at least one signal using the at least one coefficient prior to transmission of the at least one signal over the channel, compensating for the at least one expected degradation characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20030070132
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of encoding video and other data types. The method includes receiving an input. The input data pixel is split into a plurality of components and a data bit is concatenated onto each of the plurality of components. The plurality of components and concatenated bit are DC balanced and communicated to a channel.
