    Abstract: Levamisole, a known anthelmintic, is effective in treating scabies when given systemically at dosage levels of about 2.5 mg/kg/day, two consecutive days per week until the patient is disease free. From one to four weeks of such treatment has been found to be generally adequate for cure, without causing significant side effects. Topical treatment with levamisole in a suitable vehicle may be used as an alternative to systemic treatment.
