  • Patent number: 7113761
Abstract: RF power device module (500) having an RF power device chip (206) which integrates an RF power device (208) with at least one of DC detector circuits (201, 202), RF detector circuits (203, 204), and thermal detector circuit (235) which cooperate with optical emitter/detector components (213) that supports a bi-directional optical link (210) made through free space with diagnostic processing and control circuits implemented on a separate chip (214) mounted within the same enclosure (205). The bi-directional optical link (210) enables interpretation of detection signals (227) received from the RF power device chip (206) and the feed back of default or other management and control signals (229) sent back to the RF power device chip (206) in response to the detected and analyzed conditions.

  • Patent number: 6556099
Abstract: A multilayer ceramic device (100) includes a plurality of dielectric layers (104A-G) separated by ground planes (114) and includes a plurality transmission line segments (118) in generally folded configuration for defining a tapered transmission line (102). The profile of the transmission line may vary and includes such profiles as embodied in the depicted lines (200, 206, 212).
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6018514
Abstract: A desirable operating condition is maintained in a communication device (100) that is operating in an undesirable environment by reducing the number of radio frequency signals being amplified and subsequently transmitted by the communication device (100). The remaining radio frequency signals transmitted will be transmitted at full power, so that coverage area is maintained in a tradeoff for reduced capacity.

  • Patent number: 5530438
Abstract: A radio system user (126) is alerted (129) as to the occurrence of a financial transaction by a customer (118). Data (122) is obtained from the customer (118) and used to identify a radio system user (126), who is authorized to conduct the financial transaction. A message, indicative of the financial transaction, is automatically provided to a radio system and broadcast (129) to the radio system user (126), thereby alerting the user (126) to the financial transaction.

  • Patent number: 5093638
Abstract: An unbalanced surface acoustic wave (SAW) resonator-filter is achieved by using a predetermined length of unbalanced transmission line to define a ground potential and permit two SAW resonators and such transmission line to function together as an unbalanced filter.

  • Patent number: 5015972
Abstract: A broadband RF transformer design is described that facilitates the construction of a broadband impedance transformer in a compact, planar format, while retaining ease of assembly and manufacture. Broadband operation is achieved through the use of a slotted low-impedance winding structure, common-manufacture ferrite elements, and the optional placement of reactive elements between winding turns. By virtue of construction, thermal performance is enhanced, allowing operation at power levels not previously possible. The invention accommodates functional tuning via laser or abrading techniques. Also, the winding configuration eliminates the need to access the center of a spiral for the purposes of establishing a ground connection.
