    Abstract: A remotely controlled toy flying system in which the pitch of the toy flying device is controlled by the same drive shaft and drive shaft tube that is used to transmit power to the rotor of the toy flying device. A child can easily control the pitch of the toy flying device by rotating a knob. Rotation of the knob displaces the drive shaft, lifts the pitch link member and rotates the pitch shaft and toy flying device. Tilting the toy flying device causes the rotor to have a horizontal component of thrust causing the toy flying device to rotate in a fixed arc around the pivot member in the direction in which the knob is rotated by the child. Speed of the toy flying device rotor is controlled by the fore and aft motion of a lever.

    Abstract: A toy car launcher includes a base which carries a combination of pulleys which cause a slide in an elongated track to be rapidly propelled down a track when a pair of handles are pulled. A car placed on the track is propelled by the slide down the track, gaining velocity until it exits the track and continues its travel. The track is hinged to ease transport and storage.

    Abstract: A teaching and entertainment device includes a desk-top console which supports a keyboard, an LCD display matrix, and a plug-in cartridge recepticle. A quartet of LCD drivers each control a quadrant of the display under the control of a first microprocessor. A plug-in cartridge is insertable into the console and contains a second microprocessor. Apparatus are provided for establishing a master/servant relationship of the second microprocessor over the first whenever the plug-in cartridge is present.

The system includes a rotating mirror and alphanumeric character generators, and is capable of simultaneously displaying different information to each of the viewing stations. The information displayed at each station is not observable at the other stations. Only one single-digit character-generator is required to display a line of information to two viewing stations.

    Abstract: A portable electronic game for simulating the play of the game of soccer including a housing mounting a display and containing circuitry for controlling the play of the game in accordance with the rules of the game of soccer. The housing also mounts a number of input keys for providing input signals for controlling the movement of the ball and one of more offensive players shown on the display. In the preferred embodiment, a goalkeeper and five defenders are operated by the control circuitry and formations are provided for kickoffs, throw-ins, corner kicks, and goal kicks.

A gamepiece representing the player may be positioned in any one of the three lanes and is free to move in a first direction from one rung to the next; randomly generated obstacles advance in the opposite direction from rung to rung; the object of the game is for the player to avoid collision with the obstacle or obstacles.
