  • Patent number: 11420346
Abstract: A cutting implement including a metal substrate and a coating is provided. The coating has zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO), which provides protection against corrosion of the metal substrate. In some instances, the zirconium PVD provides protection from corrosion for at least 200 hours. A layer of titanium nitride (TiN) can be added to the coating to increase the hardness of the metal substrate. In such an embodiment, the layer of titanium nitride (TiN) is applied before the zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO). Titanium nitride (TiN) coated steel is 3 to 5 times harder than uncoated steel. Thus, a combination of titanium nitride (TiN) and zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO) as a coating on a metal substrate can increase the life of the metal substrate by providing increased hardness and anti-corrosive properties.

  • Publication number: 20220055117
Abstract: A cutting implement including a metal substrate, carbide edge(s), and coating is provided. The coating is zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO), which provides protection against corrosion of the metal substrate. In some instances, the zirconium PVD provides protection from corrosion for at least 200 hours. A layer of carbide can be added to one or more cutting edges of the metal substrate prior to the deposition of the coating. The carbide increases the sharpness of the cutting edges and therefore increases the life or longevity of the cutting edges. Thus, a combination of zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO) as a coating and carbide edges on a metal substrate can increase the life of the metal substrate by providing increased hardness, sharpness, and anti-corrosive properties.

  • Publication number: 20210316415
Abstract: A sanding tool system including a sanding plate with a metal composition having a first layer composed of a corrosive inhibitor and a second layer composed of an abrasive material. The sanding plate also has one or more evacuation ports extending through the metal composition, one or more recesses extending partially into at least the second layer of the metal composition, a retaining lip extending around a perimeter of the metal composition, and a connector attached to the first layer. The system additionally includes a sanding tool removably attached to the sanding plate via the connector.

  • Patent number: 10780569
Abstract: A knife handle assembly adapted for attachment to a knife blade, including an elongated handle having a cavity formed therein and a pliable section positioned adjacent the cavity; an elongated rod extending along a longitudinal axis and into the cavity; a user engageable member attached to the rod on the exterior of said handle and adapted to permit selective rotation of the rod about its longitudinal axis; and a first cam positioned within the cavity and in abutting relation to the pliable section and engaged with the rod, wherein rotation of the rod about its longitudinal axis translates to movement of the first cam into said pliable section an amount corresponding to the degree of rotation.

  • Publication number: 20200229418
Abstract: Disclosed is a fish dehooking device for permitting a fisherman to separate a fish from a fishing hook and line. The dehooking device includes a pair of pivotally connected handles one of which is coupled to a dehooking assembly such that its pivotal movement is translated into linear movement of the dehooking assembly. Positioning of a line/hook against the dehooking assembly followed by retraction of the dehooking assembly through the squeezing of the handles together results in the release of a fish from a hook and line.

  • Patent number: 10264722
Abstract: The bulb planter employs a pair of members which cooperate to form a generally cylindrical structure with a working end in a closed position. One member pivots to an open pivoted position wherein the members separate at the working ends. An angularly displaceable lever is forced toward a handle to actuate the member for pivoting. Upon release of the lever, the member pivots back to the closed position.
