Abstract: A first aspect of the invention is a bird decoy, including a body; a weighted keel; a sleeve, wherein the sleeve includes a slot that fits over the keel; and a stake, wherein the stake is inserted in the sleeve. A second aspect of the invention is a bird decoy, including a body; a weighted keel; a stake, wherein the stake is inserted in the keel; wherein the keel includes a recess with a web and the stake includes a slot, wherein the web is inserted in the slot of the stake. A third aspect of the invention is a bird decoy, including a body; and a stake, wherein the stake is inserted in the body; wherein the body includes a recess with a web and the stake includes a slot, wherein the web is inserted in the slot of the stake.

Abstract: A plastic shelled game bird decoy is converted to an animated decoy by providing rod-like wing supports rotatably mounted to the interior of the plastic shell and attached together to an operation cord, wire, rope, or the like in a manner that can rotationally move the supports away from the exterior of the shell body. Flexible wing members resembling the wings of the decoy specie are attached to each of the rod-like wing supports so that movement of the rods will simultaneously move both of the wings in a realistic flapping or flagging movement. The wings can be in separate pieces or preferably a single piece attached to the rods and to the back of the decoy shell.

Abstract: A shell decoy with a hollow foot and leg attachment is described herein where the attachment can be filled with sand or lead shot or other heavy particulate material sufficient to enable the decoy to stand in the position selected on soft or frozen ground to give a more life like appearance to the decoy.
