  • Patent number: 9221502
Abstract: An aerodynamic gooseneck trailer includes a leading end configuration that provides an aerodynamically efficient shape, and a main body portion including substantially vertically oriented sidewalls that are curved, and a roof section that is narrower than the floor section.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 12, 2012
Date of Patent: December 29, 2015
    Inventor: Richard S. Nauert
  • Publication number: 20130088595
Abstract: A safety system for a single design racing automobile having a rear mounted airfoil member with an adjustable aerodynamic wing member includes a horizontal light panel with a multiple sections along the rear edge of the wing member, and a control unit programmed to control the sections of the horizontal light panel to be illuminated in synchronization with operation of the automobile's rear brake lights, reverse gear drive lights, turn signal lights, as well as emergency flashing of the lights. The safety system also includes one or more rearward facing cameras mounted to the rear edge of the adjustable aerodynamic wing member.

  • Patent number: 6402711
Abstract: A brace hinge includes an upper and lower intermeshing gear members each having an elliptical gear intermeshed with the other and sandwiched by two very thin profile cover and support plates. The elliptical gears produce an eccentric motion which lends it self to following the natural motion of the human knee or other joints such as the elbow. The elliptical gear of one member has its radius extend toward the pivot axis of the other gear as the radius of the other elliptical gear retreats from the pivot axis of the one member. The magnitude and radial extent over which the ellipse extends can be varied. The combination of advancing and retreating radius gear members, relatively few gear teeth and sandwiched support plates eliminate any interruption to a smooth transition, provide superior load bearing ability and provide for extremely low friction.

  • Patent number: 6290664
Abstract: An extended coverage leg brace having an up and across upper and down and across lower structure carries a number of extended adjustment areas. The structure provides an extended length moment engagement to reduce pressure on the upper and lower leg of the user, while the adjustment areas facilitate and enable the user to form the brace to a configuration which will better fit the user's leg shape and topology. The shape of the upper and lower supports in addition to smaller adjustment area loops produces a large open space which avoids over covering the skin of the upper and lower leg to promote air and cooling to significant areas of the upper and lower leg. A custom pad set has raised areas which fit somewhat through the open spaces left in the looping upper and looping lower structural supports which enable the use of lighter weight and a lesser amount of more efficient padding, which also promotes “breathing” adjacent the leg.
