    Abstract: The present invention describes a safety device for a socket portion of an electrical cord. The safety feature involves the positioning of a conducting ring around the positive slot on the receiving socket. The conducting ring is grounded, and when used in conjunction with a ground fault interrupter, prevents the completion of an electrical circuit through the child's saliva from the positive contact in the socket and the flesh of the child's mouth.
