  • Publication number: 20250108366
Abstract: A method of regenerating an ion exchanger which is used to treat a solution introduced to the ion exchanger in a downward charging direction. The ion exchanger includes a non-constrained ion exchange bed of ion exchange material in the form of ion exchange granules or beads and has a concentration profile through the ion exchange material after the solution has been introduced to the ion exchanger in the charging direction. The method of one embodiment includes passing a pre-regenerating solution downwardly through the non-constrained ion exchange bed of ion exchange material in an intermittent pulsed flow of a pulse or downflow of pre-regenerating solution and a subsequent non-flow pause time, followed by passing a regenerating solution upwardly through the non-constrained ion exchange bed of ion exchange material in an intermittent pulsed flow of a pulse or up flow of regenerating solution and a subsequent non-flow pause time, followed by a downflow pulse.

  • Patent number: 11168005
Abstract: A method and apparatus use conductivity to control the dosing of various chemical additives used in the water treatment industry by modulating the chemical additives within threshold setpoints. Conductivity directly correlates to concentration of chemical additives. This correlation is used to modulate the dosing rates of chemical additives into a process water stream to consistently regulate and balance chemical additive concentration within the process water stream. For example, the method and apparatus dose chlorine dioxide precursor solutions into a process water stream to generate a consistent concentration of aqueous chlorine dioxide.

  • Patent number: 10962235
Abstract: A circular air flow pattern is created in a small oven cavity having a convection system including a convection cover which is mounted to and defines a duct in combination with a rear wall of the oven cavity. The convection cover includes an intake at one end portion arranged adjacent a first side wall of the oven cavity and a plurality of exhaust openings formed in another end portion arranged adjacent a second side wall of the oven cavity, with the convection cover progressively tapering through multiple sections. • Publication number: 20200346957
Abstract: A method of treating biofilm having a protective extracellular polymeric substance (EPS) membrane attached to a surface applies chlorine dioxide to the biofilm attached a surface to disrupt the EPS membrane of the biofilm and thereby expose microbes in the biofilm to microbicide attack and death without detaching the biofilm from the surface.

  • Patent number: 9691374
Abstract: A data processing system is provided for performing processing operations upon an ordered stream of input data values to form an ordered stream of output data values. A select circuit (18) includes select interval generation circuitry (34) which determines a number (interval number) of input data values between each data value to be selected for output from among the ordered stream of input data values. This interval number varies with position within the ordered stream of input data values. The select circuit (18) can thus perform selection of input data values in accordance with an interval number which may be varied, for example, in accordance with a linear piecewise approximation of an desired curve or, in other embodiments, in a piecewise quadratic variation approximating a desired curve. The processing techniques may be used, for example, in beam forming application, such as 3D beam forming of ultrasonic images.

  • Publication number: 20100206119
Abstract: An embodiment is a robotic arm end effector. The end effector generally comprises an actuator assembly, a positioning palm assembly, a claw assembly, a tamp assembly, and an end plate. The end effector of an embodiment may grasp and move bulk items. More specifically, the end effector of an embodiment may grasp bulk items and/or products contained in bags or sacks, move them, and deposit and/or stack the bags or sacks. For example, the end effector of an embodiment may grasp products such as grass or other agricultural seed contained in a synthetic (e.g., poly-weave) or natural fiber bags and stack them on a pallet.

  • Publication number: 20070231220
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing and dispensing a cleaning solution. The cleaning solution is produced by reacting chemicals within a dispensing apparatus. In one embodiment, the dispensing apparatus has a conduit containing a catalyst or reactant. As a precursor passes through the conduit, it reacts to form a cleaning solution. The cleaning solution is then stored in a tank prior to being dispensed. In another embodiment, the dispensing apparatus has a first portion containing a precursor used to produce the cleaning solution and a second portion containing one or more reactants or a catalyst used to produce the cleaning solution. During the dispensing operation, the contents of the first portion contact the contents of the second portion, which cause a chemical reaction to produce the cleaning solution. In some embodiments, one or more portions of the dispensing apparatus are placed on a mobile platform.

  • Publication number: 20060283360
Abstract: A method for loading a sling having a bottom and sidewalls comprises placing the sling bottom on a raised platform and rolling the sidewalls down into a gutter surrounding the raised platform so that the sidewalls form a negative angle with the sling bottom. Bagged product is then loaded onto the bottom of the sling to form a stack. The sling sidewalls are then rolled up the sidewalls up the stack sides so that the sidewalls form a positive angle with the sling bottom and the sling now encloses the stack of product. The sling jig assembly includes a raised central platform on which is adapted to rest the bottom of the sling. A gutter formed about the periphery of the central platform is adapted to receive the rolled-down sidewalls of the sling.
