Abstract: A system and method managing safety data in a Web-based application that may preferably be used by offshore oil and natural gas production platform operators to verify and store Safety and Environmental Management Program for Outer Continental Shelf Operations and Facilities compliance data. The system provides a reporting system for the orderly accumulation of safety system test data that can then be used for operational analyses, reliability studies, and reports that may be required by regulatory agencies. In a preferred embodiment, the system uses security technology to ensure the security and confidentiality of the client data. Users may access the application via their existing Internet browser to access the system Web site. After entering data, which may preferably be verified by the system, the user is provided with a report regarding compliance.
