  • Patent number: 4703171
Abstract: A lighting control device utilizes an infrared occupancy detector in order to control the lights in a room or area. The occupancy detector monitors changes in infrared energy, which indicate movement within the area, by receiving infrared energy in a plurality of fields of view spread out over an arc of approximately 180.degree.. As a result the device may be installed on a wall of a room or area and still cover the entire area. The wide spread of the fields of view is accomplished with off-axis Fresnel lens segments arranged in series and by partially reflecting the energy received by some of the lens segments into the infrared detector.

    Assignee: Target Concepts Inc.
    Inventors: William Kahl, Richard Settanni
  • Patent number: 4510488
Abstract: A passive infrared intrusion detector is configured to resemble an electrical wall outlet. The unit includes a light for visually indicating the direction of its beam of sensitivity, and a lens unit which facilitates directional adjustment of the beam.

  • Patent number: 4460829
Abstract: In a passive infrared intrusion detector there is provided an alarm indicator light with a light conduit for providing the emitted light to an opening on the wall of the detector. The end of the light conduit adjacent the opening is shaped to provide shaping of the emitted light.

Inventors: Richard Settanni, Ronald G. Avery
  • Patent number: 4451734
Abstract: A passive infrared intrusion detector is provided with a lens having selectable patterns of sensitivity. The lens unit can be mounted to the detector in two orientations to provide two different patterns of sensitivity.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4215271
Abstract: An improvement in a photoelectric intrusion detector unit of the type designed to resemble a duplex electrical outlet. An angled mirror and a collimating lens are supported on a common mount which is rotatable about an axis of rotation which is angularly displaced from the optical axis of the lens but passes through its focal point. The optical axis of the lens describes a conical surface about the axis of rotation.
