Abstract: In some embodiments, a battery management system configured to control electrical charging of a battery of a user computing device when the user computing device is electrically coupled to an external charging unit. The external charging unit can be configured to provide electrical power to the user computing device. The battery management system can include: (a) a context analyzer module configured to run on a first controller and further configured to determine one or more optimal procedures to charge the battery of the user computing device; and (b) a determination module configured to run on the first controller and further configured to determine a first charging procedure to charge the battery based on the one or more optimal procedures and further configured to manage charging of the battery of the user computing device. A phase change material covers at least some of the plurality of inner walls. An outer cabinet is positioned around the inner cabinet and comprises a plurality of outer walls arranged such that there is a space between the inner and outer walls. A mechanism is included for drawing air from outside of the outer cabinet into the space between the inner and outer walls. The phase-change material is arranged to melt when exposed to heat energy to reduce heat transfer into the enclosure. The enclosure is particularly adapted for holding heat sensitive devices such as batteries with the cabinet controlling heat transfer during cyclic heat exposure.

A method embodiment includes obtaining a first digital image of the first side of a physical object and obtaining a second digital image of a second side of the physical object. The first digital image is examined to determine if it is substantially blank. If the first digital image is determined to be blank, the second digital image is sent for processing. Otherwise, the first digital image is sent for processing.
