Abstract: Sample preparation and detection devices, methods, and assemblies are shown and described. In one embodiment, an assembly for preparing a sample for predicting a bacterial presence includes a compartmentalized container having a sample collector reservoir, a first storage compartment, and a second storage compartment. The result is improved efficient and effective predicting of a bacterial presence.

Abstract: Peel plates and plate assemblies are shown and described. In one embodiment, a peel plate assembly includes a semi-rigid plate, a removable cover seal, and an adhesive to provide a moisture vapor barrier. In particular embodiments, the moisture vapor barrier provides less than about one pound peel adhesion and a stiffness for reapplication without wrinkling. The result is a peel plate, assembly, and method for the enumerating a microorganism, when present, in a sample.

Abstract: An improved luminometer, chamber insert, and deactivator is shown and described. In one embodiment, the device comprises a luminometer for use with a test sample holder and is configured to determine the emitted light from the test sample holder. Typically, the luminometer includes a housing having a sample port, a photomultiplier assembly, and a chamber having a mirrored inner side face. In certain examples, an improved chamber for a luminometer comprises an insert portion, a photomultiplier portion, and a deactivator.

Abstract: A test device, system and method, the device composed of an elongated, toothbrush-shaped, transparent, plastic housing and a lateral-flow test strip for the detection of an analyte, such as a beta-lactam in milk, in the housing, the housing having an expansion cavity to receive expanded, liquid-contacted, absorbing material in the test strip, and to control lateral flow rate and times in the test strip.

Abstract: A single use reagent chamber and a test apparatus for the detection of test samples, particularly by a chemiluminescent test. The chamber includes a cylinder sealed with probe-puncturable membranes into a sealed compartment with a reagent composition therein for the test used. The reagent chamber is used in a test unit of the test apparatus.

The photometer includes an O-ring seal at an input, to the light measurement sample chamber, so on insertion of the holder, with a test sample to be detected in the test vial, the upper section blocks interfering light from the chamber.
