    Abstract: Described herein are systems and techniques for reducing the submission of disputes as well as increasing the efficiency of disputes processed via a dispute resolution process. The system enables additional information related to a conducted transaction to be provided via application programming interface calls made to a resource provider. In some embodiments, the system described receives a dispute request from client computing device pertaining to a conducted transaction, the dispute request including a transaction identifier associated with the conducted transaction, determines a resource provider associated with the conducted transaction, provides, to the resource provider, an alert notification indicating the dispute request, the alert notification including at least the transaction identifier, and receives, from the resource provider within the predetermined period of time, a credit notification for the conducted transaction.

    Abstract: When an account holder contacts the issuer of the account to dispute a transaction conducted with a merchant using the account, the issuer may request additional transaction details, such as purchased item level details, from the merchant via the merchant integrated dispute resolution platform. A real-time purchase inquiry sent to the merchant may request purchase information or transaction information (e.g. purchased item details, order information, order history, shipping and delivery information, etc.) associated with the transaction. The merchant may send a real-time response to the merchant integrated dispute resolution platform which may forward all or a portion of the received information to the issuer in real-time. The entire communication between the issuer, the merchant integrated dispute resolution platform and the merchant may be a sessionless (or stateless) communication, i.e. all communication among the parties may occur in a single session which may last 10 seconds or less.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to transaction dispute resolution system that uses a liability model for resolving disputes. Disputed claims may be validated based on transaction information and according to predefined validation rules. A validated dispute claim may be processed according to a claim category of the dispute claim. An automated liability allocation process is used to process a dispute claim that requires little or no additional information whereas a collaboration process is used to process a dispute claim that requires additional information provided by parties of the claim. The automated liability allocation process may be based on dispute history information of the parties of the claim.
