    Abstract: Disclosed embodiments describe approaches for warming a portion of a human body. The warming is based on heated apparel (e.g., a heated glove) coupled to an electrical power supply through a heater controller. The heated apparel (e.g., a glove) can be fabricated using a narrow knit electronic textile. A heater can be constructed from the narrow knit electronic textile. The heater is coupled to the heated apparel (e.g., a glove) for warming a portion (e.g., a hand) of a human body, wherein heating by the heater is accomplished using electrical power from the electrical power supply. The heater is controlled by a heater controller which is interposed between the heater and the electrical power supply.

The body is adapted to straighten a natural curvature of at least a portion of the coronary sinus in the vicinity of the posterior leaflet to move a posterior annulus anteriorly, which in turn moves the posterior leaflet anteriorly, thereby to improve leaflet coaptation.

    Abstract: A physiological status monitoring system includes a shirt and a stretchable circumferential band attached to the shirt. The stretchable band includes a respiration detector subsystem and signal transmission conductors. One or more sensors on the band are electrically connected to a signal transmission conductor. At least one sensor has an exposed electrode inside the shirt. The system includes a cover over the band and/or the one or more sensors. A connection subsystem on the band is electrically connected to the respiration detector subsystem and the signal transmission conductors and includes signal traces therefrom to a first connector accessible from outside the shirt. An electronics module is releasably attached to the shirt and includes a second connector which mates with the first connector. The electronics module includes a processing system and a transmitter.     Abstract: A novel system for performing a heart valve annuloplasty. The system involves the use of a plication band. In one embodiment, the annulus of the valve is reduced by constriction of the plication band itself. More particularly, each plication band enters the tissue at two or more points which are spaced from one other by a distance which is dictated by the geometry of the plication band. Subsequent constriction of the plication band causes these points to move toward each other, thereby constricting the tissue trapped between these points and thus reducing the overall circumference of the valve annulus. In a second embodiment, the annulus of the valve is reduced by linking multiple plication bands to one other, using a linkage construct, and then using a shortening of the length of the linkage construct between each plication band so as to gather the tissue between each plication band, whereby to reduce the overall circumference of the valve annulus.

The body includes a flexible spine having a proximal end and a distal end, and a flexible wire mounted on the spine and having a distal end fixed to the spine proximate to the distal end of the spine, and having a proximal portion extending from the proximal end of the spine. Axial movement of the wire causes a change in the spine from the first configuration to the second configuration to exert the force on the posterior annulus and thereby reduce mitral regurgitation.
