Patent number: 11731078Abstract: A desulfurization gas process includes water vapor, CO2 and SOx (x=2 and/or 3). In a treatment unit, the gas contacts a cooled alkaline aqueous solution having a temperature lower than an initial gas temperature, water and a carbonate of an alkali metal, to cool the gas, condense some water vapor and absorb SOx in the carbonate-containing solution, produce an SOx-depleted gas and an acidic aqueous solution including sulfate and/or sulfite ions. The SOx-depleted gas and a portion of the acidic aqueous solution can then be withdrawn from the treatment unit. Carbonate of the alkali metal can be added to remaining acidic aqueous solution to obtain a made-up alkaline aqueous solution. This solution can be cooled and reused as the cooled alkaline aqueous solution. An SOx absorbent solution includes a bleed stream from a CO2-capture process, sodium or potassium carbonate, and an acidic aqueous solution obtained from desulfurization.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2021Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: SAIPEM S.P.A.Inventors: Sylvain Lefebvre, Richard Surprenant, Ferrere Clerveaux, Gabriel Veilleux, David Zhang

Publication number: 20220118403Abstract: A method for stripping CO2 from a biocatalyst-containing CO2-rich absorption solution to produce a biocatalyst-containing CO2-lean absorption solution and a CO2-rich gas is provided. The method includes generating a stripping gas from a portion of the biocatalyst-containing CO2-lean absorption solution in a stripping gas generation unit, and contacting the biocatalyst-containing CO2-rich absorption solution with the stripping gas in a gas-liquid contactor to produce the CO2-lean absorption solution and the CO2-rich gas.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2020Publication date: April 21, 2022Inventors: Sylvie FRADETTE, Richard SURPRENANT, Eric MADORE, Hana BOUTELDJA, Sylvain LEFEBVRE, Ferrere J. Patent number: 7739934Abstract: Power tool includes a movable blade and a detection system for detecting contact between the blade and an object. Detection system includes an excitation plate capacitively coupling the drive signal to the movable blade. A circuit generates an in phase component signal and a quadrature component signal from a blade current signal indicative of the instantaneous current drawn by the movable blade and calculates an energy of the blade current signal considering the in-phase and the quadrature components. The circuit compares the energy of the blade current signal to an adaptive trigger threshold to detect contact between the blade and the object based on whether the energy of the blade current signal is greater than the adaptive trigger threshold.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2008Date of Patent: June 22, 2010Assignee: Power Tool InstituteInventors: Vladimir Tetelbaum, Darius Mostowfi, Richard Surprenant

Publication number: 20050176255Abstract: A multilayer ceramic repair process which provides a new electrical repair path to connect top surface vias. The repair path is established between a defective net and a redundant repair net contained within the multilayer ceramic substrate. The defective net and the repair net each terminate at surface vias of the substrate. A laser is used to form post fired circuitry on and in the substrate. This is followed by the electrical isolation of the defective net from the electrical repair structure and passivation of the electrical repair line.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2005Publication date: August 11, 2005Inventors: Jon Casey, James Balz, Michael Berger, Jerome Cohen, Charles Hendricks, Richard Indyk, Mark LaPlante, David Long, Lori Maiorino, Arthur Merryman, Glenn Pomerantz, Robert Rita, Krystyna Semkow, Patrick Spencer, Brian Sundlof, Richard Surprenant, Donald Wall, Thomas Wassick, Kathleen Wiley

Patent number: 6385194Abstract: Systems and methods by which voice/data communications may occur in multiple modes/protocols are disclosed. In particular, systems and methods are provided for multiple native mode/protocol voice and data transmissions and receptions with a computing system having a multi-bus structure, including, for example, a TDM bus and a packet bus, and multi-protocol framing engines. Such systems preferably include subsystem functions such as PBX, voice mail and other telephony functions, LAN hub and data router. In preferred embodiments, a TDM bus and a packet bus are intelligently bridged and managed, thereby enabling such multiple mode/protocol voice and data transmissions to be intelligently managed and controlled with a single, integrated system. A computer or other processor includes a local area network controller, which provides routing and hub(s) for one or more packet networks. The computer also is coupled to a buffer/framer, which serves to frame/deframe data to/from the computer from TDM bus.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1999Date of Patent: May 7, 2002Assignee: Vertical Networks, Inc.Inventors: Richard Surprenant, Scott K. Pickett
