  • Publication number: 20230191492
Abstract: In some examples, a system receives measurement data obtained based on a non-destructive imaging of an identifiable structure within a three-dimensional (3D) object formed using an additive manufacturing machine, the identifiable structure formed based on control of a characteristic of a build material of a first internal object portion relative to a characteristic of the build material in a second internal object portion, the first and second internal object portions being within the 3D object. The system determines, based on the measurement data, a deviation of a physical property of the identifiable structure from a target physical property, and outputs information indicating the deviation.

  • Publication number: 20230110841
Abstract: A system can include one or more electrodes; a sensor structure configured to position electrodes over a surface of a body that includes an artery. A capacitance sensing circuit can be coupled to the electrodes and configured to acquire capacitance values of the electrodes over a predetermined time period. The capacitance values can correspond to a distance between the body surface and the at least one electrode. Processor circuits can be configured to generate APW data from the capacitance values. Corresponding methods and devices are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230113396
Abstract: A method can include attaching a sensor device contained in a sensor structure to a body; sensing motion of the body with at least one motion capacitive sensor of the sensor device that senses a capacitance change resulting from a difference in orientation of the motion capacitive sensor and a surface of the body. If motion of the body is not sensed with the motion capacitive sensor, sensor readings can be acquired with a biophysical sensor that emits signals into a portion of the body below the sensor structure, and generate data for a feature of the body with the sensor readings. If motion of the body is not sensed with the motion capacitive sensor, data for the feature of the body is not generated. Related devices and systems are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11380347
Abstract: In some examples, adaptive speech intelligibility control for speech privacy may include determining, based on background noise at a near-end of a speaker, a noise estimate associated with speech emitted from the speaker, and comparing, by using a specified factor, the noise estimate to a speech level estimate for the speech emitted from the speaker. Adaptive speech intelligibility control for speech privacy may further include determining, based on the comparison, a gain value to be applied to the speaker to produce the speech at a specified level to maintain on-axis intelligibility with respect to the speaker, and applying the gain value to the speaker.

  • Publication number: 20210234590
Abstract: A location of a first wireless device relative to a second wireless device with which the first wireless device exchanges an in-band data stream is determined. The in-band data stream is exchanged via a wireless signal, and the location is determined based at least in part on an out-of-band data stream originating at the first wireless device. A direction toward which to steer a beam of radiation emitted by an antenna array of the first wireless device is determined based on the location. An instruction is then transmitted to the first wireless device. The instruction instructs the first wireless device to steer the beam toward the direction.

  • Patent number: 10616681
Abstract: In example implementations, a system is disclosed for suppressing ambient sounds. In one example, the system includes a camera, a plurality of microphones, a plurality of speakers and a processor. The camera captures an image of a target, the plurality of microphones receives ambient sounds and a plurality of speakers outputs an audio signal to suppress the ambient sounds. The processor is in communication with the camera, the plurality of microphones and the plurality of speakers. The processor can identify a location on the target based on the image that is captured, determine a direction and a frequency of the ambient sounds, and generate the audio signal based on the direction and the frequency of the ambient sounds, the audio signal is directed towards the location on the target.

  • Patent number: 9972120
Abstract: A method of mapping a two-dimensional image to a three-dimensional surface includes capturing data for a two-dimensional image and a three-dimensional structure. A process determines coincident points between the 2D image and the 3D structure and maps points on the 2D image to the 3D structure by assigning relative two-coordinate points from the two dimensional image to relative three-coordinate points of the three-dimensional structure. The mapping creates a 3D surface and texturing and removes superfluous data from the created three-dimensional surface to clean the mapped resultant.

  • Patent number: 9453562
Abstract: A valve actuator torque limiter (103) includes a moveable shaft (208) moveable two ways in an axial direction and, in use, rotatable to cause rotation of a valve actuator drive shaft (202). The limiter further includes a brake disc (214) mounted on the moveable shaft; a first friction device (216A) located to a first side of the brake disc, and a second friction device (216B) located to a second side. In use, contact between the brake disc and the first or the second friction device stops a motor (302) rotating the moveable shaft. The limiter also includes a casing (102) housing at least the brake disc, the first friction device and the second friction device, and an adjusting arrangement (224A, 224B) for adjusting a position of the first friction device and/or the second friction device relative to the brake disc. The adjusting arrangement is operable from outside the casing.

  • Publication number: 20050113908
Abstract: To prevent intimal hyperplasia within a dialysis graft, a flexible tube comprising the dialysis graft is coated interiorly before placement with an anticarcinogen or mitosis-inhibiting agent for preventing cell division. The graft can also be irradiated with light energy by directing light into the lumen of the tube that has been grafted in place, thereby preventing or reducing dialysis graft intimal hyperplasia and reducing inflammation. The light source can be a light emitting diode (LED) or a chemical light source, i.e., a chemiluminescent substance for producing cool light energy within the graft to prevent or reduce the symptoms of GIH. When phototherapy is used, the body is exposed to light radiation at the site of the graft in sufficient amount to prevent undesired cell proliferation within the vessels, the graft, or surrounding tissue where the invention is used without detectable damage to body tissue. For various applications, visible light can be used, e.g.

  • Publication number: 20050028090
Abstract: A method for displaying hypertext data comprises displaying a first document represented in a first markup representation and containing at least one hypertext link, and in response to a user input selecting a first hypertext link in the first document, accessing an external document represented in a second markup representation, the first hypertext link having an original state pointing to the external document. The method further comprises converting the second markup representation of the external document into a first markup representation of the external document, and incorporating the first markup representation of the external document into the first document. The method can also include modifying the first hypertext link from the original state to a second state having an internal link pointed to the first markup representation of the external document in the first document.

  • Patent number: 6817434
Abstract: The vehicular axle assembly includes an input shaft, a drive gear assembly connecting the input shaft to a pair of output shafts, pair of opposite wheel ends mounted to the outboard ends of the output shafts, a pair of wheel end disconnect assembly disposed between and selectively connecting each of the pair of the output shafts to the corresponding one of the wheel ends, and a control system controlling the wheel end disconnect assemblies to selectively transfer torque from the input shaft to either the wheel ends. Each of the wheel end disconnect assemblies has a hydraulically actuated friction clutch assembly integrated with the corresponding wheel ends for facilitating both selective torque coupling and limited slip between the wheel ends and the corresponding output shafts. The friction clutch assemblies are actuated by a hydraulic actuator, also adapted to supply pressurized hydraulic fluid to a vehicle wheel brake system.

  • Patent number: 6306304
Abstract: An aerobic treatment apparatus and method of treating effluent transported from a septic tank. The effluent flows into a large enclosed holding tank and a small enclosed production tank located in the holding tank. The effluent within the production tank is intermittently pumped through an air modified venturi flow system and through directional jets from which it mixes with and increases oxygen content in the effluent in the holding tank. A timer in communication with the pump controls the period of pumping. The treated and mixed effluent is transported to a disposal field.
