  • Patent number: 7665554
Abstract: An electrically powered motor vehicle includes a system for recharging the on-board batteries, which system includes an air-flow conduit with an entrance at the front of the vehicle, a plurality of electric turbines mounted in tandem within a first portion of the conduit, and an additional electric turbine mounted within a second portion of the conduit, which exits at the underside of the vehicle. The tandem-mounted turbines are disposed for effective rotation, in reaction to air flow, on a generally horizontal axis, and the additional electric turbine is mounted for rotation in reaction to air flow on a second axis, generally transverse to the first axis and disposed proximate the exit end of the conduit.

  • Patent number: 7263737
Abstract: A tool for simultaneously cleaning inside and outside surfaces surrounding an open end portion of a pipe includes a cleaning arm and a pipe-supporting arm mounted in a head for adjustment of the transverse spacing therebetween. Support portions on the cleaning arm have confronting faces spaced transversely from one another and defining a rearwardly extending, forwardly open slot adapted for the receipt of the wall of a pipe supported on the pipe-supporting arm, and a pipe-cleaning element is disposed on each of the confronting faces of the support portions. Relative rotation of the mounting head and a pipe so positioned will cause the cleaning elements to effect simultaneous cleaning of the surrounding inside and outside surfaces of the pipe end portion.

  • Patent number: 6917675
Abstract: To set up a conference call which includes two, three or more participants, when the participating residential gateways (RGs) lack the necessary capability, a call agent designates a capable residential gateway RG, such as an embedded or stand-alone multi-media terminal adapter (eMTA or MTA) or a cable modem voice (CM), to serve as a residential conference mixer (RCM). The call agent routes outbound voice traffic from the participating RGs to the RCM, which mixes the traffic from the RGs participating in the conference call and directs the mixed voice traffic to the participating RGs. The call agent monitors the RGs for information useful to determine availability for conferencing.

  • Patent number: 6637115
Abstract: A cutting head for a portable, hand-held, power-operated pipe cutter is constructed with at least one channel in a rotating mounting plate assembly, to permit lateral insertion of a pipe. The power-transmission arrangement employed includes at least one component that effectively spans the entrance to the channel in the mounting plate so as to ensure that driving engagement therebetween is constantly maintained.
